When I first heard about the phase out of incandescents I vowed to stockpile as many as I could because the only alternative at the time was those terrible fluorescents bulbs. I refused to even consider them. Then slowly LEDs were introduced and became better. Still, for me, incandescents are the best. I have quite a few and these were among the last purchased until they were banned this month. GE has always made good lightbulbs and time was running out so even though they were priced at a higher price due to the closing market I bought them. Arrived with one bulb broken, but was refunded $8.00. Works as advertised. Likely my final incandescent purchase due to the government forcing them off the market. More of a protest-purchase.

    • Great light bulbs and really great customer service
These are great light bulbs. Long-lasting, great soft-white hue. Unfortunately one of the 12 bulbs arrived shattered which, I’m sure, was the fault of rough-handling by the shippers. The folks in customer service refunded me 15 dollars—the price of about 3 bulbs. Very nice of them since I don’t think they shipped it to me broken! Will buy again. ... show more

    • Blue light sensitivity
I detest LEDs. They made me blind. That's a bit of hyperbole. I have extreme blue light sensitivity that developed after I changed my home over from CFLs to LEDs. I'm pretty well convinced that the LEDs caused it. Yes, LEDs, even the ones that claim to mask blue light, give off a lot of blue light, and this can damage your vision. I highly recommend that folks find a different light source for rooms where they will be doing a lot of reading especially if it is off of a computer screen. When I replaced the LEDs with incandescent in the two rooms where I do a lot of reading, there was an immediate difference in my vision, and my improvement continued for several months. My vision became better on my annual eye exam, but the most important thing is: No more migraines. No more calling out from work because I physically am not able to read my computer monitor. I've been hearing for some time that these are no longer being manufactured. If the world runs out of incandescent bulbs, life will be extremely miserable.
