Works extremely well. Put up about 15 fence posts in wet, sticky clay soil with tree roots and it never missed a beat. The "fishtail" point didn't move once you set it in place and the auger never complained. Fit the standard drive on the HF motor drive without any issues.

The initial fishtail part of the unit is lacking. Luckily I also purchased the replacement fishtail and you can see what it should actually look like. Going to request the manufacturer sent a proper fishtail for the initial purchase as this one is just a lump of weldment with some red paint on it and will not stand up to the shell embedded clay soil here. ... show more

Worked awesome for planting seedling trees. I got about 500 holes drilled in soil that contained rocks. Before the bit was no longer effective. Not bad I thought. Would recommend for tree planting.
