  • Set to "WATER" it runs at just under 1400W. Working well.
Nice. - Fan noise and the induction 'clicking'/'whiring' add up to bit of moderate noise. Not whisper quiet. Was noisiest at first, after running a while the switching magnetics noise is mostly gone. Odd. - The 'water' setting, and only the 'water' setting uses 1397W when set to 1300W. All others when set to 1300W are ~1315W. - When off + auto fan ON to cool down <3W. OFF and no fan = <2 Watts (it jumps around so average may be 1-1.5W). - It can continuously manage lower wattage settings 1300W to 700W (100% ON). 600W and lower settings pulse between 3W and 720W like microwave ovens do. - Induction (magnetic) area as marked is ~5.5" diameter. This does mean that your induction cookware should have as small a 'decal' embossed indentation area as possible on their bottoms (the company name + info/decals area depression which raises up the center of the pot away from the induction surface). The magnetic field already has to cross through the glass so a bit of center embossing won't hurt too much and may help to prevent center burning (not a bug, a feature?!?). - My new Homichef 1.75qt pot 6.5" dia (Nickel free w/metal lid) worked fine. The pot does have a 2-3/8" depressed decal area which showed up as a bit fewer bubbles in the water, but not too bad I think. 1" dia area in the middle was not very active (low induction area) in the water heating (fewer bubbles). The 1" 'gap' in the middle should mean it won't burn much in the middle, which is good (a very hot spot otherwise). - main heating area seems to be 3.5" diameter. I'm using the Homichef pot with a thick bottom which keeps the center of the pot heated well (bubbles) even though is has a 2 3/8" decal/embossed area. - induction area is biased toward the top, it is not centered within the painted rings but 3/4" toward the top (away from the button area). - Turns off induction quickly, <1 second, when a pot is lifted off the induction surface. - 1 minute after a pot is lifted off the power is shut off. This will leave the fan on to cool off the electronics. Fan shuts off a few minutes later. - Handled my old Sears New Dimensions 8qt 9.5" diameter pot loaded with water just fine. - In the 1 3/4 qt Homichef pot, 6 minutes to boil 1qt tap/cold water. 6.5 minutes to maximum rolling boil. Boiling maintained down to 700W (light rolling with very few bubbles). 600W and lower the power is cutting ON and OFF and when ON has a non-rolling boil (simmer) with large bubbles. - I didn't want a 1800W induction plate, this 1300W (1400W max) will work better with battery inverters. My Humless LiPo battery box has a 1500W inverter, so 1800W is too much (it would likely, on lower Wattage settings, cut ON and OFF between 2W and 1800W). - Picture at 5.5 minutes of 1300W, 1qt of cold water. Also shows the offset needed that centers the boiling in the pan. - end of batch run. He-he, for you old timey computer folks. ... show more

  • Love this induction hotplate
Size: Single
I love this induction hotplate I use it every day three times a day instead of my stove top. One thing I really love about it is it goes down low enough to simmer foods without burning. It goes all the way down to 140°. However this hotplate actually has another setting for setting wattage instead of temperature. My husband said the wattage at 300 is less temperature than 140°. So you can really summer things nicely on it. We had the one from Amazon before for a long time the only thing I didn’t like about it was the fact that you couldn’t simmer low enough. One thing I kind of dislike about this one and others has complain as well is the fact that you cannot turn it totally off. It goes into a standby mode and the light flashes. However if you hit the power standby button it is ready for use but it will not do anything until you hit the function button which is to choose wattage or temperature. However if there is no pan on it it will not heat up so that is not an issue. The buttons are extremely easy to push so any person with an arthritis in their fingers will not have any problems. Glass surfaces very smooth and easy to clean. I do recommend this induction hotplate ... show more

  • Fan bearings bad, defective, returned for another try. Second unit had the same problem!!!!!
As soon as I attempted to use it the fan for one of the burners was incredibly loud. Clearly the bearings were bad. The other burner seemed alright. Since I knew I was going to have to return it I did not perform any further tests. Will see how a replacement is.....A week later the replacement unit arrived. It has the same problem, except this time the right hand burner fan was the bad one and the left hand one was alright. This is wasting my time and gasoline returning these to UPS, and wasting my packaging tape. This company will be out of business soon if they don't improve their quality control. I'm very disappointed. ... show more

  • I would rate this a 2 1/2 stars, this product will go out after 1 year, so buy insurance on it!
This product works very well except not made for daily use, after a year it goes out & needs replacing. I’m retired & have used it daily instead of my gas stove and I’ve found after a year it will go out!

  • Unbelievable, very good.
If it holds up and continues to work like it does now, I'll be more than happy. It works fast and stays cool! From turn on to fully cooked scrambled eggs in less than a minute. Must use inductive pans but I love it!

  • It's OK.. Lacking with temp control
I bought this unit - (GASTRORAG LCD 1800W DOUBLE PORTABLE INDUCTION COOKTOP). I have an infrared stove and hate it so I bought a portable Duxttop induction cooktop and placed it on top of my stove and fell in love with the performance. I decided to buy a double induction burner for convenience and one that will fit turned sideways on top of the stove next to my induction Wok. I found this product to be the only one with the dimensions that fit so I purchased it. The look and feel of it makes me feel like I got a good value for the money. It fits perfectly in the space I needed it to go. However compared to the Duxtop, it's level of heat control with increments of 1-10 are lacking in scale. There's not much of a difference between 3-7 so it's like having a choice of low or hight heat. No medium heat control. I find myself constantly having to manually hit + and - to cook with controlled heat. ... show more

  • It's perfect
Size: Single
I adore this machine. It heats up quickly, it has a timer, it has a lock so nothing gets messed up. It's been one of the best purchases for my tiny kitchen I've ever made
