  • My third Garmin, after trying other watches.
I've had a Fenix 3, a Fenix 5, a Bulova Precisionist, a Citizen Eco-Drive, a high-end ProTrek, and two Apple Watches in the last several years. In a way, the Apple Watches were way ahead of everyone else, in that they can do EVERYTHING. At the same time, though, the Apples were a little fragile, and are tightly tethered to being recharged. The Eco-Drive and the ProTrek had the advantage of solar power, which allows them to keep going when the power is out for extended periods, including cataclysms of various sorts, but they didn't do very many things, including no heart rate. I don't remember now why I sold the Fenix 5, but I remember being impressed with its durable construction, its multiplied resources for exercise and outdoor use, plus amazing battery life. Garmin has been working on solar power for several years, now, and the new Enduro 3 maximizes battery life plus it has the same software and capabilities of the Fenix 8--with the exception of a MIP screen instead of AMOLED, no speaker or microphone, and no diving capabilities (though it is waterproof to 10 ATM). Some reviewers say the Enduro 3 is the best watch Garmin has ever made. I encourage you to check the specs on the Enduro 3. It really is quite remarkable. It's light, and easy to wear all the time. It's G-Shock quality, with sapphire glass and all the bells and whistles of Garmin's latest OS. It would be nice to have the glitter of AMOLED, but those screens eat batteries, and battery life was my central criterion. I also wanted a digital watch, not an analog one, and satellite nav with good maps. Check. The Garmin store can't be compared to Apple's for add-ons, but I have found the Falcon Z and the BIG EASY watch faces to provide all the customization I really need. Yes, it's expensive, but I've paid as much for watches before and gotten much less. ... show more

  • Just buy it. Don’t get an Apple Watch. Same features as a Fenix but better battery
Excellent watch! I primarily use the watch for tracking my fitness, however, the additional features are welcomed. The touch screen is a great bonus and the excellent battery life is honestly impressive. For context, I have a Garmin Instinct 2 Solar Tactical as well. This had more features I was looking for, but I didnt feel like I needed the latest Fenix watch with the Amoled screen. Battery life is significantly better than the Fenix 8 with AMOLED (I expected this) but the watch doesn’t skimp on features. Being able to add music to your device via your favorite music app (I prefer Spotify) is great for runners who don’t like a phone in their compression shorts while getting some miles in. The addition of the ruck workout has been great and I find myself using the LED light instead of using my phone flashlight on nearly every week. If you need a watch with good battery life, fitness tracking, and the ability to check the time buy this one. I was sick of my Apple Watch needing to charge every two days and I won’t go back. Garmin gained my trust and support. ... show more

  • Great watch for active people
Why did you pick this product vs others?: Wow. I can’t say enough good things about this amazing watch. I bought it to replace my Fenix 7X after reading tons of reviews (I don’t spend this kind of money without doing a lot of research), and I couldn’t be more pleased. This watch is a lot lighter than the 7X, which I really appreciate since I wear it pretty much 24/7. It does everything I need it to do and then some. I’m not super techy so I won’t to into a lot of specs, but I will say the GPS has always connected quickly, the display is amazing (even in bright daylight), and I’m still learning about all of its features. I love being able to change and customize watch faces, and the “do not disturb” feature keeps the watch face dim at night so I don’t get flashed every time I move my arm. One thing that has come in surprisingly handy is the built-in flashlight and the ability to change the white light to red for low-light situations. I have used this feature more than I ever thought I would! I debated between this and the Fenix 8X, but the price difference and similarity in features swayed me and I’m happy I made this choice. I highly recommend the Enduro if you want a premium watch that won’t totally break the bank. ... show more

  • Love it!
-I have small wrists (I am only 5’2”). This thing is pretty big for me (used to wear a 47mm AW) and I honestly thought I would hate the size but I hardly notice it. -The watch syncs easily with its app and sends notification sounds to my earbuds even though they are only paired through my phone. The UI is not as streamlined as AW but I love not having to charge it every night. You really have to dig into the menus to find some things but you can customize that to an extent too. It’s much more customizable than the AW, however if you like vibrant displays this isn’t the watch for you, but it is very readable in full sun. Loads of faces available on the Garmin Connect IQ app if you like that stuff. -It’s easy to start my workout. I got it for backcountry backpacking. The band that comes with it dries fast too, and more comfortable than I thought. -The only disappointment is that it won’t read information from apple health, or really any app, only write information. It’s like starting over, its not a deal breaker for me, but could be an issue for others. There is a very clunky workaround with a 3rd party app but I can’t be bothered to figure it out. -So far, while the UI has been an adjustment, I am really enjoying this watch. I can’t wait to hit the trails with it. ... show more

  • Better than Foreunner and Fenix models
This is a good watch! I have had four Garmin 900 series Forerunners over the last 12 years as a former triathlete. I still train some and spend a lot of time outdoors so I appreciate the solar battery life. I have small wrists and wasn't expecting this 51mm size to work for me but thanks to the comfortable webbing band, it is the most comfortable Garmin I have had and I do sleep with it on. Love the straight forward, non-Amoled display and the flashlight is the feature I never knew I needed until after I got it. Paired with my Garmin HRM strap too for accurate reading. ... show more
