Our townhouse association shut off the water sprinklers to save money. Using my own water supply I needed something that would work in smaller confined areas. My lawn is postage stamp size - say 20 x 20 feet in area. It is adjacent to two driveways and it was important to keep our very hard water off the driveways and more importantly off the cars that park on them. This is perfect, you can adjust the angle, rate of flow, and tightly focus the stream to only land on the grass. I left it out all summer, it is barely noticeable, and use a timer to control frequency. Lawn has never looked better, even when the sprinklers were working, this does a much better job with coverage.

The media could not be loaded. I have been gardening for decades, mostly tending perennials. Nearly all the lawn of my small suburban yard is now perennial gardens. The gardens are all odd shapes: round, narrow, around trees, along the side of the house, etc. These odd shapes make it very difficult to water the beds! I have been using a Gardena AquaZoom oscillating sprinkler for many years. While it has served me well over the years, it was always difficult to use such a large sprinkler for tiny/narrow/odd-shaped gardens. I do not water any lawn ever. I needed something specifically made for little gardens. I hesitated for a long time to purchase the Gardena ZoomMaxx mostly because I could not find details about how small of an area i could water with it. DO NOT HESITATE! This thing goes down to "tiny" !!!! There are so many ways to adjust this sprinkler and that helps immensely: there are two tabs to adjust each side of the width of the water flow (the "wave") there are two knobs to adjust the point at which the wave will stop and then oscillate to the other side there is a knob to adjust the pressure of the flow. This keeps the sprinkler oscillating and also adjusts the height of the wave. the sprinkler head rotates. I love this feature. So much more flexibility in where I can set the sprinkler. It all sounds like a lot but it's super easy to use. The spike is sturdy and raises the sprinkler head above the ground a bit. Just poke the sprinkler in the ground, rotate the head in any direction, and get watering!

This is just about everything you would expect if you bought a sprinkler made by Germans. Does it do everything? Yes. Does it do it well? Yes. It's it more complicated than any sprinkler you've ever seen? Yes. You can set it to spray a rectangle of just about any size - width and length along with water pressure are adjustable. The downside it you can spend 10+ minutes fiddling with it to get the water exactly where you want it. That said, I would definitely buy this again.

No 5 stars because almost to the day I bought it 1 year ago, the oscillating suddenly stopped. And I could hear a faint grinding sound inside. In fairness I used it almost every day for about 30 minutes. It was always removed from the hose after each use and stored in the shade. Gardena is a well known brand. And I own many other products of theirs. And have ordered another similar model sprinkler. Hopefully it will last longer?

I have had sprinklers before and they have worked fine. One brand I have had for years but the width adjustment handles were so flimsy they broke. I decided to buy new one so I tried Aqua****, cheap, worked but you couldn’t adjust the width of the spray - didn’t work - sent it back. Then I purchase Gardena (this model) twice as expensive, but difference is night and day. There is adjustment for pressure, adjustment for the length on both sides using the sliding bars, but here is what is the bees knees, the width of the sprinkler is adjustable individually on each side, that means one side can be full width while the other is at its narrowest giving a myriad of combinations. The adjustment mechanism is also very sturdy and fine. I have only had this a a short while, impressed so far. If it lasts the 5 years it is guaranteed for then money well spent. It also comes with a quick connect and the sprinkler end is one piece with the unit so no leaking, another nice feature. If you don’t need these features the Aqua**** would be fine but if you need adjustments to get in those weird shapes of lawn like mine - this is the one for you. Time will tell how good the workmanship is, if it keeps going without breaking or clogging, I would give it 6 stars
