It's not a 15 minute job as you have to dissemble your current pergola shade, but once you get everything down, its pretty easy. My only issue is with the magnet - it doesn't stay like the original shade and I have to constantly pull it closed, if I want shade. Lighter and a little thinner than the original but it's worth the investment if you don't want to replace the entire pergola. ... show more

It works and fits perfectly. Definitely not the same fabric, quality or color as the original. Color is not appealing but it’s the only replacement I could find.

    • Good Replacement
We just received the product the day before yesterday and put it up yesterday. Delivery was very quick! It was difficult to put on, but that was due to the structure's design, not the new cover. We had to take each pole apart separately in order to slide it into the pocket. It would be nice if the replacement would be made with velcro pockets, but that might be too expensive. Now that it is up, the replacement is perfect. The workmanship is great and the fabric looks durable and waterproof. My only question is that I received an extra part with grommets in the right place for attachment, but that doesn't seem to be a part of the replacement. If anyone knows the purpose of the extra part, let me know! Overall I'm very happy to have found this replacement cover! ... show more

This canopy is not an effective replacement for the original. It leaked all over my patio furniture the first day it rained. The description says “water resistant”, but they must mean the absolute bare minimum that meets the definition of water resistant. I’m replacing the original canopy because it started soaking through the fabric instead of running off after four years of use. This thing soaked through the fabric during the first rain on the fourth day. I’m having trouble reconciling this purchase. It’s not even close to the same kind of fabric as the original; there noticeably fewer threads, it’s not woven as tightly and the binding is too short which it causes the edges to curl just enough for water to collect in the folds. Everywhere the canopy collects rainwater, it runs through the fabric; it should roll off of it like the original. I usually collect the runoff in watering cans, but they’re empty and my furniture is soaked. It does not provide reliable rain cover past a light sprinkle. Even then, if it’s a light sprinkle for awhile, whatever is under the folds in this canopy is getting soaked. I should be able to enjoy coffee in a downpour and stay dry. I cannot. I purchased this as a replacemet for our Home Depot Hampton Bay purchase. The only one had worn from the elements and had holes. This one fit perfectly on our 9x9 gazebo. The color is a warm tan and even though it is not very thick, it does a great job providing shade when the sun is directly on it. Definity keeps the area cool. It's not the easiest to install and has no instructions. Not sure if there is an easy way to install the shade because I can see us replacing this in a few years (I hope this lasts... we have hot summers and sub zero winters in Northern Nevada). ... show more

We purchased these awnings at Home Depot about 7 years ago to shade western facing windows and provide cooling shade for the house. The direct sun in the afternoons was overheating the living areas on the appartment and these did the trick. The original canopy lasted nearly 4 years, Homedepot did not have a replacement canopy so I felt lucky to find these on line - this is the third year for the replacement canopy and as you can see, it's shreaded! I have looked into a custom made canopy out of studier material but cost is nearly $500, so I bought another one of these and intend to apply the Scotch Guard Sun and Water Shield to see if it will last longer, I would like to see Garden Winds offer a heavier, UV resistant material in these canopies. ... show more
