A couple of our Melnor brand hose sprayers from the big orange box store had sprung leaks internally where I can't repair them (I encourage you to stay away from the Melnors!), so when I saw this handheld sprayer, I thought I would give it a shot figuring that it couldn't be worse than the Melnor sprayers that failed. I can easily say that this is nicer than any of the other sprayers that we have. The body of it is all metal, and with one exception (which I'll get to), it feels quite solidly built. I like that this sprayer has a hand control for on/off as well as as separate control to dial back the water volume/pressure. And the range of spray patterns is pretty comprehensive, even if a few of them seem sort of useless. The sprayer I received actually has 10 different patterns, not the advertised 8. It's nice that there were three extra washers included in the box, since they can dry out over time and cause leaks where the sprayer attaches to the garden hose. My only nit is that the water flow control lever that is at the top of the sprayer is made from plastic and it feels cheap and a bit flimsy; my fear is that it will soon break off, making that control useless. On a sprayer that otherwise feels very well built, this oversight stands out. While it's winter here, we had a warm-ish day recently and I got to try this out briefly. I haven't had a chance to use this extensively, so I can't yet vouch for its long-term functionality and durability. Once spring and summer are here, I'm sure this will get more use and I will update this review if more use reveals any quality or usability issues.
