Just like the ads say, my insulated garage doors had gaps on the sides, letting in cold. When the wind came up they rattled terribly. I looked at these hinges, and thought they were expensive for what they are, and I wondered if they worked as good as the manufacturer claimed. Well, they do. The gaps are closed, no more rattling. No more cold air coming in around the doors. The door is quieter when opening and closing. The instructions are easy to follow and installation was extremely easy. The media could not be loaded. Our garage doors are good quality and well insulated. However, they face west and rattle quite a bit during high winds.from the NW. When it's below freezing outside there's several times the snow or ice didn't melt off our cars inside the garage. So, I did some research on how to resolve this issue. I narrowed it down to Thermotrack railings and green hinge. Thermotrack seemed good but required me to remove the side railings and green hinge was to just replace one hinge at a time. It was a no-brainer for me. I could not be happier! Our doors don't rattle anymore even with the 35-40 mph winds we had the other day. The doors are basically airtight and the temperature in the garage is 20-30 degrees higher than the outside. What really stands out is how I don't even feel a breeze in the garage anymore. The air is still. I decided to add a ceramic heater in the garage and the temperature has been steadily over 40° for the past 3 weeks Even when it's 10° outside. I can't speak enough of this product. I'm extremely impressed and I can't recommend it enough. If you have leaky garage doors you're going to be amazed by this simple upgrade. I added a little video I hope it helps. ... show more

Work absolutely as advertised. Very easy installation as well. Our house is oriented so we get almost daily wind blowing at our garage door and these have stopped the wind from creating gaps between the exterior seal and the door. No gaps has resulted in less dust, pollen and dirt, as well as a reduction in bugs. Even our temperature is more controlled now even though we do not gave an insulated door. 0 impact on the opener being able to operate the door either.     • Holds door tight
Size: Residential 4 Panel Door Under 12’ Wide
The price is high, but they are well made and do the job intended: hold the door against the seal to stop air leaks. They are pretty easy to install and hold the door tight against the seal. I adjusted the tracks slightly so they are evenly loaded. The only drawback is that by holding so tight, they increase the drag on the door making it more difficult to raise and lower. I've sprayed it with dry lube which helped, but it's still pretty stiff. Update: I installed a Chamberlain garage door opener; it has no problem with it. ... show more

O ordered these for my 16' garage door here in northern Ohio. This past winter was very challenging, I have an insulated garage door but the cold air still got in especially when the wind blew. I ordered these hinges and installed them on my door. When the door was closed, it sealed up real nice and no cold air got in. There are two different sizes, the silver spring is for a garage door 12' and smaller. The gold spring is for garage doors larger than 12'. ... show more

Just got these today and installed them right away. Product comes with pretty good and reasonably comprehensive installation instructions to show what it can work with and what it cannot. The build quality, material, design and execution is excellent. I wish I had taken pictures of these with the hinges I was replacing them with to see the night and difference there was between them. Let's be honest; if your door is a janky mess, new hinges aren't going to substitute for replacement doors/tracks. BUT- If you're just tired of the doors bowing in every time the wind blows these things work GREAT! I've installed them on 2 of my 3 4 panel doors, and will be doing the 3rd soon. The doors are also much quieter. I'd strongly suggest getting some sealed bearing nylon rollers at the same time you install these hinges. One stone, two birds... purchased for a residential garage door that is 18 feet long five panel high and insulated. had almost a one inch gap on the sides of of the garage door. as soon as I received the hinges, it was clear they are heavy duty and much better quality than stock hinges. Swapping them out was incredibly easy and the instructions were pretty straightforward. They also provide a link to watch a video on how to swap them out. I needed two additional hinges as I did not read the description fully and have a 5 panel door. I ordered from the company directly on their website. Within an hour of placing the order, they reached out to confirm I ordered the correct parts as they were packaging them up and about to mail them. so far, there’s been a clear difference with the hinges installed and completely closed the gap on my door.
