The media could not be loaded. Our garage doors are good quality and well insulated. However, they face west and rattle quite a bit during high winds.from the NW. When it's below freezing outside there's several times the snow or ice didn't melt off our cars inside the garage. So, I did some research on how to resolve this issue. I narrowed it down to Thermotrack railings and green hinge. Thermotrack seemed good but required me to remove the side railings and green hinge was to just replace one hinge at a time. It was a no-brainer for me. I could not be happier! Our doors don't rattle anymore even with the 35-40 mph winds we had the other day. The doors are basically airtight and the temperature in the garage is 20-30 degrees higher than the outside. What really stands out is how I don't even feel a breeze in the garage anymore. The air is still. I decided to add a ceramic heater in the garage and the temperature has been steadily over 40° for the past 3 weeks Even when it's 10° outside. I can't speak enough of this product. I'm extremely impressed and I can't recommend it enough. If you have leaky garage doors you're going to be amazed by this simple upgrade. I added a little video I hope it helps. ... show more

    • Great product, instructions fall short

These are easy enough to mount, directions are clear. What’s not clear is that your opener will likely require tension/resistance adjustment. I have a new-ish ‘smart’ opener that sets tension/resistance automatically as part of the travel adjustment process. Immediately after installing these I was having an issue where all my openers would abort closing because they sensed it was harder to close the doors than usual. Once I retaught them how far to open and close they learned the new resistance and I haven’t had any issues since. These feel a bit expensive but I’m very happy now that they’re installed. I used to have drafty doors that rattled and buzzed in high winds. No more! ... show more

Great hinge system. Works as advertised. Easy installation. Installed these on 11/19/2024 in about an hour, including installing & greasing new rollers. Takes a bit of force to push door away from exterior weather seals. Wind storm came up, door didn’t move, no cold air allowed in.

The price is high, but they are well made and do the job intended: hold the door against the seal to stop air leaks. They are pretty easy to install and hold the door tight against the seal. I adjusted the tracks slightly so they are evenly loaded. The only drawback is that by holding so tight, they increase the drag on the door making it more difficult to raise and lower. I've sprayed it with dry lube which helped, but it's still pretty stiff. I'm getting ready to install a garage door opener; I hope it doesn't cause a problem. ... show more

These do a good job of keeping your garage doors from leaking around their outer seals when the wind blows on them. One caveat: go directly to the Green Hinge Systems webpage to buy them; you'll save almost $20 for a set of 6, including the shipping charges.

was. alot of work to remove old hinges, and replace all the rollers ( i got real quiet ones) worth it though. door closes nicely without jerking around again. and you also have to readjust the tracks over time. loosen the nuts and slide the tracks foward until door is close as you can get it. then loosen the nuts on the top of door on each side one at a time, to push it away from door to make it close tighter. it works backwards with tension on doors. you will love these things if you have old (more than 20 yrs old) garage doors. also recommend 1 piece pvc molding with attached weather strip. and get 1/8" weatherstrip thick about 2" wide to put under it. ... show more
