So let me just say this is worth the investment, but keep in mind the sizing is based on smaller kibble bites. We bought the 80 lb vittles vault (at the time it was cheaper than the 50 lb). I'm glad we did. We use it for dog food, and we buy a 50 lb bag at a time. If you're using a food with larger kibble like pedigree, purina, beneful, kibbles and bits, ol roy, etc., then a 50 lb bag will fill the 80 lb container to the top. Now if you're using something with smaller kibble, like Diamond, a 50 lb bag will fill it up about 2\3 of the container. It is very durable, it has a spin on lid that keeps the food fresh and also keeps the dogs from getting into it. We had bought a container from Walmart prior to this and the dogs chewed the lid off. This one, they don't even mess with. It comes with a scoop that measures 1 cup. I definitely recommend this product, just take into consideration the sizing. ... show more

This is a great product. We had mice getting into our dog food in the garage and wanted a container to store it in. This is durable and air tight so there is no way they are getting in. I first bought the 50lb version, thinking it would hold a 50lb bag of dog food (makes sense, right?), but it does not, so I returned it for the 80lb version and that holds a full bag of dog food. ... show more

With 2 xl breeds we buy dog food in bulk. This container has the capacity to hold 2 bags at a time for us. I love that we can close off the top and the seal keeps the food fresh. The weight of the container itself is great and we are able to stack one on top of another.

This container is expensive, but worth it. It is ergonomically friendly...the height, the way that you remove the lid, etc. I am tall with a bad back, so I wanted something easy to scoop dog kibble from. It is high quality material. I needed something to keep the dog kibble fresh and prevent any pests from entering. I recommend if you want a high quality dry food pet container. Best storage container ever for my dog food. I have a few others that I have tried and used other the years but this one surpasses them all by miles. 1) holds more despite what descriptions say 2) stays nice & fresh all the way to the bottom 3) can always tell if it wasn’t closed properly or tightly 4) no way animals can chew through it if you are storing it in a garage or shed - outside not sure if & even outside very difficult for bears to get into 5) definitely waterproof bc we had a pipe blow and water got everywhere but all our dog’s food was good even to the very bottom - no mold or anything. If I think of anything else I will add. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. DEFINITELY WORTH THE MONEY. THIS & THE BIG BARKER DOG BED ARE MY DOG’S 2 big, pricey items. ... show more

I have had a few different sizes of these containers for years. They are still in great shape and they keep my dog and cat food fresh and free of critters. I just bought the largest container for my chicken coop. I had seen so many homemade feeders for chickens so I decided to make my own, only problem is most plastic containers are not bpa free or food grade. Then I thought of these and sure enough it is perfect. I cut out feed holes at the bottom for the chickens and it holds a ton of feed at a time. :) ... show more

We were searching for a birdseed storage solution after we had a rodent invasion who dined from the seed bags. This unit solved all those problems, it's big and indestructible, holds 2 40lb bags of seed, lid is easy on/off and seals tight. The only drawback with this, which is to be expected, is that it's hard to move when filled. 80lbs with small indentations as handles isn't the easiest chore, so make sure it's where you want it before you fill it.     • The size is a little overstated

Update: Now that my babies are adults they are eating dog food. I buy the 57# bags from one of the big box warehouses. These containers will hold this with just took to spare for (maybe) 10# more. The only other observation I'll supply is the manufacturer needs to revisit the top of these containers. When pouring foods from these, the top of the container prevents all of the food from pouring out. Additionally, the inside near the top has sharp edges (plastic) that have scraped skin from my knuckles on more than one occasion. Still would recommend as these things went through a hurricane and kept the food dry. This is very sturdy but I have noticed some room for improvement with this product. The twist on/twist off lid should be replaced with a fliptop lid because after only two entries, the seal came off the top. I believing the twisting dislodged it. Fortunately, the seal was sturdy enough that it wasn't broken and it was easily reseated on the lid. Secondly, the size of this like of products could be overstated. When I was considering purchasing this, I originally considered purchasing the 50-lb. size. I'm glad I reconsidered. Even with this 80-lb. size, I was just able to get two 28.6-lb. bags of puppy food. This amount of food came up to just below the handles. I know it would not have held even half of another bag (total of ~70-lb.). Remember that puppy food is usually small so when my puppies graduate to dog food I real life doubt that I'll be able to hold a 50-lb. bag. So far, however, I am happy with this product. Much better than the SimplyHuman pet food storage I have. The size estimates on those are REALLY off. ... show more
