I discovered this seasoning when I lived in California. It is the perfect rub for tri-tip roasts and steaks or anything on the grill. Moved to Texas more than twenty years ago and still order more whenever I run out as have never found a better substitute!

I've been using Pappys on my rotisserie chicken, bbq chicken, ribs (pork & beef) and pork roast that I bbq. It gives it just the right amount of seasoning to give the meat a great taste. Try it lightly at first and then adjust the amount you use thereafter...you'll really like it.

This stuff is the bomb. I use this every time I grill steaks or hamburgers, and it goes well on chicken thighs and pork chops as well. It's versatile and tasty and I think I am on my 6th large container of it now.

I first tasted Pappy's seasoning at a clam bake here last summer. They were using it as a rub and just for sprinkling on the steak and chicken that was on the grill there. Great stuff, a real rub in the Texas barbecue tradition. Unlike other spices I have used on various meats, its not all that good tasting when just sampled alone. Kinda harsh actually. But when it blends with a meats natural juices it turns delicious. And it holds its taste even if you like your meat well done. I have never been able to find it locally, so I get it here on Amazon for a right fair price... As to some of the reviews here that criticize it as being really salty, I figure that either most of those folks either hate anything salty or just haven't tasted too many rubs. For trust me, I have experienced a whole lot saltier in a rub to be sure. Be that as it may, if you are someone that has salt issues, I advise you to perhaps try something else. This may be too much for you in any event. For all others, highly recommended...Yummmm : )
