  • Great idea. Works well.
Size: 2 Count (Pack of 1)
This is a great idea to be able to get cameras in places where it might be much more difficult to get power to it since there’s already a light bulb socket there. In my case, I installed them in a couple of my ceiling fans. This is convenient, but there are a couple of things to consider: 1. If using a fan with multiple light sockets, just make sure it’s not one where you actually use the lights unless you’re comfortable with either keeping them on 24/7 or not being able to have your camera record 24/7. It’s also easy to forget about this and accidentally turn off the camera via the light switch. 2. I was fully prepared for not being able to use my ceiling fan lights, but one thing I didn’t think about was that if using the fan, the camera shakes a little due to the fan not being perfectly balanced. Coupled with having the motion activation turned on, this causes it to record clips very often when no other activity in the room was taking place, and of course any video of something you intended to capture will be shaky. This could also potentially cause the fan to be even more out of balance depending on the design since the camera is considerably heavier than a light bulb, but I haven’t noticed any evidence of this. None of this is any fault of the camera of course, just something to be aware of. Aside from those points about ceiling fan usage, everything else has been great. The picture is clear and it’s nice to have the 2K resolution which I haven’t seen in other home cameras I’ve owned so far. There are also some cool features like having it turn on a light at night when motion is detected (to be clear, this is more like a spotlight, the camera does not light up like an actual light bulb) or sounding an alarm. It comes defaulted to having this motion light enabled, but can easily be switched to infrared in the settings. And the motion detection can be used to record free 10 second “alert” videos, longer clips online with a paid subscription, or saved to an SD card. The talk feature is also nice if you want to be able to speak with someone or say high to your pets while you’re away from home. ... show more

  • Easy setup, works well, clear image and sound, great value
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I was looking for a camera for our balcony and found this camera. It's great because it just screws into a light bulb outlet. Once you screw it in and turn it on you can change the direction that it's pointing with your phone. I like everything about this camera so far. The only thing about using a light outlet is that there's usually a switch for that outlet so if you turn off the switch then you just turned off the camera. I also bought a memory card with more memory so I could store a longer timeline of recordings because I live in a very high traffic area. Great purchase! ... show more

  • Amazing Picture Quality
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1)
I love the image quality from these Galayou cameras. We first bought 2 that can be mounted to wall/ceiling for indoor use. They have great quality and it is reasonably simple to set up with the app. The one in the window did not get a clear view of the area surrounding our porch and front door so we purchased this lightbulb version. My only complaint is it doesn't look far enough down to see below and so it can't see the entire doorway of the apartment. We were offered an incentive from the seller for a review before, but I ignored that in favor of using the camera for a while to see how it went before advising others on the quality. Downward angle - It does not look directly below the camera and so there will be blind spots if your light fixture is close to the door or high up. Lighting - The actual light from the camera is decently bright but illuminates a small area instead of filling the surrounding with light. This is only an issue when you actually go outside as the camera can see in very low light with no issues. Low Light Conditions - This camera makes it look like the sun forgot to go down! After sunset with no porch lights on from neighboring apartments you can still see very clearly. If the light gets so low that the normal sensor no longer sees clearly though, you can swap to IR mode and see even those tiny lizards running around on the sidewalk, or the cat in the bushes, or that possum that keeps eating all the cat's food. Size - The light fixture outside of my apartment is from the 70's and is quite small, so I was unable to place the globe around it again. This gives me some anxiety as it is not the best neighborhood and someone could simply unscrew it and walk away, which brings me to my next point, the motion sensor. Motion Sensing - The app has a few settings for sensitivity levels but I noticed no change in what it would pick up no matter the setting. Between my wife's plants, the constant breeze in the area, and the way the light/IR sensors attract bugs, the motion sensing and notifications are unusable for me. It picks up every single little bug and every twitch of a plant leaf even only low sensitivity settings. Cloud / AI - I did not sign up for this as I was not happy with the motion sensing capabilities of the camera to start with. Perhaps it would make it where I only get alerts for people approaching, but the built in setting that is free to use does not work. It still picked up each little bug and half of them were labeled as people, while the delivery guy walked right through the motion zone, dropped packages, and walked away without setting it off. Would I buy another? Absolutely. ... show more
