I am reviewing the Galanz ToastWave. Very fast (3-day) shipping by Amazon. I must have bought it on a cyber sale or something, because when I clicked on the link to make a review, the price was $200 more than what I paid. When the huge box arrived, there were a few tears in the box, but the oven was in perfect shape due to the styrofoam it was packed in. I did notice some scratches on the control panel, but there is a clear sticky protective layer on top that was hard to see. Just peel it off and it is beautiful. It is big and beautiful. After I removed my old microwave and toaster, I actually have more room on my countertop now, but I made a little (trial) extension out of wood to slide it over closer to the refrigerator over the gap between the countertop, to give me more room. The hinges of the door are on the left, and it is a good sized door, so if you are mixing something on a small countertop and need to open the door, I had to move whatever I had on the countertop just to open the door. I have tried everything except the Sensor modes (which I don’t understand yet), and everything works great. The controls are pretty easy to figure out, and I really like the functions of the dial. I’ve never used auto settings on previous microwaves or ovens, as I prefer to adjust my own power, temperature and time. The bake “cake” auto setting is pretty accurate on time and temperature, but I prefer to set my own. You can easily fit a 9” x 13” baking pan inside, long-way straight in only, but there is no way to turn off the turntable (except in microwave mode as far as I can tell), so it is always turning underneath the baking pan, which is too long to do a complete circle inside the oven, so the pan gets shifted to one side until it can’t move anymore, but the turntable keeps turning under the pan. The instructions say to use the turntable, so I’m not sure if you can just stick the pan in there on top of the heating elements, but I think not. The manufacturer did say that the oven works best when using the turntable. My brownies turned out great in a 9x13 pan, sitting on top of the turntable, and baked evenly, but I’ll worry about wearing out the top of the turntable by rubbing on the bottom of the pan. A 12.5” round pizza pan fits perfectly inside of the turntable, so I’m going to have to get a few more of those round pans to bake cookies and other things so the pan can spin around. UPDATE 1/7/21: I saw the wear marks on the bottom of my 13x9 pan from the turntable, so that won't happen again. Not a problem for me, but I wish I could turn the turntable off. You can only turn it off in Microwave mode. I now bake 8x8 pans for brownies, and just cut smaller slices. The brownies are a little thicker, and the frosting is thicker, so oh no, poor me. I rarely write a review in the first place, for anything, except to bitch about something. For me to write a follow-up, just means that I REALLY have an opinion. I don't think I can really explain how cool this thing is. I'll try. Once you get the hang of this oven, it will do almost anything. I made convection Pillsbury muffins this morning for the first time, and they came out just beautiful, browned perfectly on top and bottom. Tonight I made meatloaf and acorn squash. Boom. Perfect. I'm not a good cook. I set the timer to what the package said. Ding, Ding Ding, it's done. Get yourself a low wire grate to put onto the turntable (see picture), then put your pan on it. If you want to make a 12" pizza, get a 12" pan with holes in it, otherwise the bottom of the crust is soggy, if you use the pizza setting and a flat pan. The top gets too brown, and the crust is soggy. I have best luck on either "bake" or "Convection". I will never use all of the other automatic options that are available. When I used the broil setting, for making cod fish the other night, smothered in butter, it turned out better than I've ever made in my oven broiler. Just wanted to let you guys know that this is a pretty nice machine.

We bought this device due to it having 4 things in one.... BUT it is a jack of all trades master of none, well the microwave is good... We tried the air frier function tonight, we had some panko breaded frozen shrimp. The box only had fryer or shallow frying directions, so I looked online for air fryer directions every where I looked from frozen the size shrimp should take 8 to 10 minutes at 350 or 400. I started the Galanz at 400 and put the shrimp in for 8 minutes... After 8 minutes the air fryer device was hot but the shrimp were still cool to the touch... I added 10 more minutes at 400 and the shrimp were now warn but clearly still raw :-( we looked in the manual and were SHOCKED to see that a 20 oz of chicken wings take 42 minutes, this is 5+ minutes more than in a non convention over for 2 full sheet pans of wings! The closest to the shrimp in the manual is chicken nuggets, 10 oz of chicken nuggets is supposed to take 30 minutes!?!? In almost any other air fryer chicken nuggets should take give or take 10 minutes! How is the Galanz claiming to be an air fryer when it takes as long or longer than a conventional oven to cook food?!?! Air fryers are supposed to use high temp air and a powerful fan to cook food in much less time than an oven. We tried toasting bread in the Galanz and it took 5 to 6 minutes... If you are toasting 5 or 6 pieces this isn't bad if you are tasting less than 4 pieces any decent toaster will do it better and faster. We bought this hoping to save some counter space (toaster, air fryer, and toaster oven) but between the lack luster preference in all but the microwave the Galanz is nothing but a huge expensive waste of space. But the microwave seems to do a decent job, but nothing amazing. UPDATE: After having this unit for 3 weeks now, and cutting up the shipping box :-( we have decided that this device is a complete waste of money! The air fryer function is nothing but a bad heater with a fan, it takes longer to cook items in airfry mode than it takes to bake them in the oven AND NOTHING is crispy. Just like other reviews have said, the turntable design is terrible, if you put anything off center the weight knocks the turntable off the drive mechanism anf the turntable doesn't spin causing hot spots or burning. The taster function is garbage it doesn't work well and is much slower than the toaster oven we are hoping to replace. This is actually our 2nd of this microwave, the first sparked when the turntable rotated... I called customer service and my call was answered by an answering service. I was told I would get a call back in 2 to 3 business days... It has been over a month and I haven't gotten a call back (and have sense shipped that one back to get this one). All in all due to lack of response from customer service and terrible performance of functions I cannot recommend this unit to anyone.

It does what it says - microwaves, air-frys, broils and bakes, including convection, but none of it particularly well. The air-fryer function takes twice as long as my dedicated air-fryer. The toast function works, but also takes longer than a toaster. The inside light is worthless - way too dim to see what's going on inside it, so it's necessary to open the door multiple times to check on what's being cooked. It's easy to use - once you read the manual and figure out its goofy menu system. Bottom line - if you want something to replace a number of appliances on your countertop and aren't concerned with how long it will take to cook stuff compared to those other appliances, then it does the job.

First we bought a returned unit. It wasn't packed well and got dented one one end in shipment. It is currently out of stock so I can't return it and reorder :-\ (but other wise it's fine) If you want an air fryer forget it. It works quite well as a microwave and the oven function works satisfactorily. We bought it because the only place in our kitchen for a microwave is under the island counter. The up facing controls make it workable in this application. I'm surprised they don't show it in a low mount application in the ad. I read another review stating that one had to press five (I think) buttons to get it to microwave. The controls may take getting used too but the microwave can be turned on just using the knob (a combination of pushing and turning). ( a sticker on the front of the unit saying "Push and turn for microwave" would help with those of us who read the directions last or never. I think there should be an alternative to the very pricey under counter drawer microwaves (or they need to drop in price). This was a step in that direction and no other exists. I think this units dismal reception was primarily due to the over billed air fryer function. - Sad. I doubt the unit will be available of long. Update: I do agree the smoke "glass" door is too dark (or the light is too dim) as you can't see inside. I also very much wish the knob was recessed into the panel and had finger "divot" to spin it as bumping it turns it on and sometimes for 90 minutes! A turn and push sets the time and turns it on. If you turn it to the left and push it counts down from 90 minutes - easy to do with a bump. Also the knob is not that sturdy and is likely to get broken . Not great for under counter mounting - much less children (needs a lock) . Another issue is the toaster function. The toasting element is only in the back half of the oven so a revolving piece of bread gets toasted very slow (5+ minutes). If you could set the bread higher directly under the element (no rotation) it would toast much faster. If product designers are reading - inverter microwaves can be very desirable for RVers. They are very efferent and the power can be lowered if one has a limited size inverter. (This microwave pulls no more that 400 watts on setting 3 and the literature says 1050 Watts on setting 10). Also, I think there should be no reason they should not be compatible with modified sine wave inverters but this one errors out (E46 - I think). I think this microwave was a prototype.

I originally purchased this due to strong reviews on other sites. While it does the things it says it does such as baking, air frying, and microwaving. Its usability is limited Cooking Time: for the cooking time and microwaving time, it at first only cooks in increments of 10 seconds. as anyone with a microwave knows, sometimes there is a sweet spot to reheat or cook foods we often eat and it is not always in 10 second increments. After a couple minutes the increments jump to minute increments. So the versatility in cooking in heating time is greatly diminished. The start button: There is a start button but instead of using the start button to cook, you have to press the cooking time dial. This is problematic because sometimes when pressing the dial, the dial can change the time accidentally if you're not careful. This seems like a simple design flaw that could have been fixed with making use of the actual start button: Build Quality: I used the carousel/turntable lock for the first time after 1 year. When I did, it proceeded to break the gears and the carousel no longer turns with the lock off or on. This shows the build quality is not as strong as it could have been and if locking the turntable makes it break there is obviously a design and construction flaw. The Good. I like that it comes with several accessories for air frying. The silicon textured platter was great for use in the microwave to get all around heating and I really liked it, however it is very difficult to clean and we eventually threw it out, if it were easier to clean we would have kept it, but it proved more trouble than its worth. I like that there are multiple cooking functions such as baking and air frying and they seemed to work fine, however the platform is a bit tall and the microwave is a bit short so we had to be careful not to cooking in the air fryer anything that stood up too tall.

Bought an open box to save some money. We have owned this microwave for two years now and it's great. Air fry works good but it takes a lot more time. Usually it takes around 45 minutes to air fry some wings but they come out great. I think we have done everything except bake something in this microwave, it's pretty neat. One big benefit is the non stick air fry tray and microwave plate. SUPER easy to clean off. It's plenty big inside, plenty powerful and warms very effectively. I would definitely buy another one of these.

Exactly three years since purchased for this review. Overall, it's mostly meh. Nothing impressive stands out. It's a jack of all trades, master of none. The microwave-side of things does exactly what you expect and nukes food well. For convection and bake, it's alright. For air frying... look elsewhere. Air frying is its greatest weakness. Toasting is also not great - stick to an actual toaster for that. About 4 months in, the control knob became janky. It likes to skip all over the place. The nature of this type of design itself is destined for failure. That said, it's remained at the same level of jankiness for 2.5 years and it's still able to eventually get your times dialed in. About 2.75 years in, the turntable motor died. Galanz does not sell a replacement motor for this, and I could not find any official 3rd party motors. I eventually found a Frigidaire motor and generic motor coupler that was compatible. Popped in the replacements and voila, I had a turntable back! Overall, it's not a bad 4-in-1 combo, but I really wish it had a more powerful air fryer instead of just convection that pretends to be an air fryer. Replacement parts would be nice, the control knob is disappointing, but otherwise, it's alright. Size is perfect for under my low cabinets, it's easy to use, and fairly quiet - except for the obnoxious never-ended beeping when my 4000°C nuclear burrito is cooling down to safe operating temperatures.

Bought it in 2021. Primary uses were Microwave and Oven features. Used it to bake pizzas every week since it auto shuts off when done. It died today. Plugged it in both GF plugs and it popped both circuits. Internet says research says it's dead. It was reliable and was used every day by my teenagers for snacks/etc. This was the only issue I've ever had with it.
