I probably shouldn’t give it 3 stars since the bottom half barely gets cold enough on the coldest setting to keep my groceries from rotting while the freezer gets way too cold. Poor poor engineering. At least it is cute and the interior organization is logical. *Edit—at least putting things at the back of the fridge keeps those items adequately cold. *Edit—okay a few months in and it seems to be working fine. Fridge is now cold enough (I would like it slightly colder, but it works!) and freezer just a normal freezer temp. Took a while to normalize. 2nd Edit: THIS FRIDGE IS BROKEN AND WON’T COOL ANYMORE AND GALANZ US TAKING THEIR SWEET TIME RESPONDING TO THE WARRANTY ISSUE. Will update but I do not want another one of these crap fridges. 3rd Edit: They are sending me a check refund but it has been weeks. Still waiting. 4th Edit LOL Sorry: They sent the check as promised within the 21 business days but it took that long. So the customer service wasn’t the worst, but this fridge is too unreliable so it still gets 1 star for stressing me out. ... show more

    • Good fridge with a few small quirks

I've been using this fridge for just over a year now and I'm very happy with it overall. There's lots of space inside and the fridge shelves have a good selection of height options to accommodate all kinds of stuff. There has been no ice build up, but some stuff that gets pushed near the back of the fridge sometimes will start to freeze or develop frost. I wish the freezer had a second option for shelf positioning. The shelf can only go in the middle so I've had a few instances where I had to get creative with the layout of stuff inside. Once or twice I've had to repackage something because there was just barely not enough room to go in with the original packaging. The other thing I don't like is the bottom door shelf. It's tiny so you're limited with what you can store there and it's easily blocked from view by the shelves directly above it that extend farther out. It's pretty quiet as well. My dog's water fountain sits next to the fridge and I can clearly hear their water moving around more than I notice the fridge aside from the brief moment when the compressor kicks on. Like with all things- I never leave a 5 star as that says there is no room to improve. Whats good: 1) great price given the size. Most refrigerators of this price range barely hold enough for one. This one can get our family of 5 through for a week and a half room wise. 2) It works great. It does exactly what it should and keeps everything cold- do not set it to the coldest, thats overkill especially on the bottom half. 3) I love that they did not try to change up which end was the frozen food. It is extremely awkward and can lead to back problems if the frozen stuff (which is always heavier) is on the bottom. This design keeps the freezer on top which prevents the physical strain. 4) the shelves are easily shifted to fit everything where you want it. No more trying to decide which shelf can fit what- prefer drinks up top? set the shelves appropriately. Prefer them mid or bottom? adjust how you will. Downside: 1) the freezer is a little small. That said, I still like the fact that even the freezer has a shelf that can be adjusted- no more having to pull everything out to get the thing buried in the back! 2) I thought this fridge was larger than it actually was, but that was my fault for miscalculating. So not really the company at fault- just a note to those buying to make sure they properly measure things. 3) It was a little slow to cool down. I don't know if this is typical of all new fridges, but I was glad I had not purchased anything that needed to stay frozen or I would have been in trouble. Over all, once this is set up and has had about 5 or 6 hours to reach its normal running temps, this fridge is great for the price. If you do not absolutely have to have enough food to feed an army at all times, this is a much better deal than spending over a grand on a bigger fridge- or 700 on a fridge that belongs in a hotel room. ... show more

Watch the Amazon delivery persons very closely. They moved the fridge with the dolly in the back of the fridge and bent the motor pan very badly as the wheels don’t even touch the floor and the sides are dented in. A couple hoses were compressed (as in 3rd pic) and I had to gently move them so they wouldn’t be kinked. I think it’s too late to exchange as they took the boxes. Also make sure all the screws are in place, I‘m missing one. But! The fridge is super cute and works well. Like others say, the handles should be made of metal instead of plastic. ... show more

    • Don't Buy It No Matter How Cute It Is

I bought this for a friend as a birthday gift, as her old fridge had finally given up. At first she loved it-- so cute, just the right size for the kitchen. Well, within a few months, the problems started. It iced up. Really badly. She defrosted it (and you thought the days of having to defrost a fridge were long over!), and within a couple of months, it iced up again. And again. And again. I'm no appliance expert, but it's pretty clear the defrost timer was bad. Google says this is a known problem with these fridges. Galanz customer service was no help at all. She contacted them a number of times before they replied with something other than vague, bad-translation English, canned responses. They don't service their fridges, as it turns out-- only give a refund if you complain repeatedly. Fortunately, my friend is a determined woman, and she kept at them, sending photos, descriptions of the problem, and order receipts several times. At last they said they were putting a refund in the mail. After 6 weeks, no refund. She contacted them yet again, and they made a million excuses-- problem with the courier (courier? now the USPS is a courier, seriously?), unexpectedly long "processing times," blah blah blah. She finally got the refund but minus the sales tax. Yep. After contacting them a final time, they said they don't refund the sales tax. This can't be legal. Don't buy this pretty but really crappy fridge. The good reviews are from people who just got it. Check out the ones from people who've owned it for more than 5 minutes. ... show more
