We only have window units at our home. We had a Frigidaire from the late 2000's that came with our house. It was the smallest, lightest unit that we had, and it worked better than all others. When that unit finally developed a front leak, it was time for a replacement. I ordered this one with digital controls, and I am extremely satisfied. First: the unit is very light and compact, which is great for easy installation in any style of window. When I turned it on, it quickly began cooling, and had a very quiet compressor. I'm able to customize the cooling level using controls on the unit, or on the included remote. Before I leave, I set the temp higher and run it on eco. It will automatically turn off and on as cooling is needed, saving a lot of energy. The only weird thing with this unit is the lack of a drain hole at the bottom, which is an option I like on my window units, as the sound of pinging water in the pan is slightly annoying. However, even with a pan full of water after running in humid temps, the sound is very subtle. The unit does spray its condensate out of the top of the unit like a sprinkler as the fan hits the water, which is interesting. I am considering buying more of these to replace all of our older units. ... show more

Well packaged... Amazon outside box and manufacturers inside box. Zero damage!! Installing was a breeze. It also comes with remote and side screen kit..WOW other units charge extra. The is also a top rail (5screws) that keep the unit from falling out and as a guide for the side curtains kit. I'm 70 so heavy things prove to be hard for me. To my surprise the unit only weighed 35lbs!!! When I was finished with adding the supplied insulation. I turned it on and couldn't believe how Quite it was. I literally had to put my ear up to it. It's been going as I am writing this review and I'm already cooling of. This is a quality AC unit 5k btu with remote. Super quiet. Update: This is the best window AC I've ever owned!! ... show more

Air conditioner arrived in good condition and packed well. It came with the necessary mounting hardware. Took me about 30 to 45 minutes to install in my window. I'm glad I purchased the remote control model. It is very convenient and works very well. The unit seems to be of very good quality, much better than my old Frigidaire that lasted over 7 years. The filter on that one broke, and was of flimsy, poor quality. This new one is much easier to remove and better-made. My bedroom is around 130 square ft. It cools quickly and cycles on and off. It is also quieter than my old unit. I've had it about a week, and so far I love it. I recommend it for a small to mid-sized room. ... show more

i got this because it comes with a remote and it is 5000btu i have a GE 5000 BTU , i put it in a bathroom and leave the door open with a fan blowing out so it can cool one bedroom but the problem with this unit is its limited it doesn't work like a real window unit traditionally , i got this one also for the digital thermometer but it only goes to 60 f and it doesnt cool nonstop at any point i dont care how hot it is noise depends on the insulation you put on your window its quite, small but if your ok with getting up working get the GE 5000btu one it will cool none stop until the thromomiter gets cold and u can use a hair dryer to make it come on in the cold seasons or nights , this Frigidare one i thought would be better from reviews and specs but im gonna return theis and keep my GE 5000btu window unit the only problem i had with it was it didnt come on during cooler nights and it doesnt have a remote but atleast it can cool like crazy im talking 64 61 f . it has mild cooling. ... show more

I purchased the 5000 BTU version with electronic controls this summer to fit the 21" opening in my tiny bedroom window. It was the only unit I could find that fit, and installation was straightforward. The AC does an okay job cooling my 10'x10' bedroom, but there are definitely downsides. The window is above my headboard, and this AC is pretty loud and it creates with a noticeable vibration. It often wakes me up when it cycles on and off at night, which is annoying. I wouldn’t recommend this AC unless you need one for a small window. My boyfriend has an inverter AC from Midea at his place, and it’s great. It's quiet, powerful, and a lot better overall than this unit. If I can find a similarly compact inverter model, I’ll be replacing this one. ... show more

No issues blows ice cold in my 80sq ft camper for reference its a 8ft truck camper with cabover i have this in the kitchen window so at 93d i had it at 78 temp at 12-1 in the afternoon it took about 35-40 min to make my kitchen/dinette 79 and my bed in the cabover was 82 and by 2-3 i had already changed it to 70 and it was a cool 74 all around and it was still 91d out in direct sun this thing has my approval as im not looking to be cold just cool, fans are great blows hard but quite sleep mode is decent for a camper probably way quiter in a house, air quality is good filters are easily cleaned very light and easily moved ... show more
