    • It makes ice!
However, the ice you get is barely 32°, so, it is wet ice. What we do is use the machine to make fast ice (which is fine for immediate use) then drop it in a bag and let it get down 0°. It's not hard to get a rotation going. I do not mind making a bag or two of ice. Points were taken off because if you use the immediate ice on a warm drink, it will be watered down. ... show more

Almost 2 months and still working great. I bought it because my ice maker on my fridge quit (dead) and was not ready to buy new fridge just for ice. My son suggested this option for now. I placed it in the Florida room off the pool so it will also be handy for pool parties. For now I fill up my ice container in my fridge from this and now I can use ice dispenser in fridge as well. 4 months later and it is running strong with daily use ... show more

    • There’s nothing ’compact’ about it
I’m to going to review this machine on its ice making ability, because I didn’t see it. I originally had Kumio ice machine (Countertop Ice Maker KUMIO, 9... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BJ918981?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) but broke it by turning it on its side and not wait long enough for the cooling fluid to settle. (When you clean these machines be aware! Learnt it the hard way…) Anyway, I know I should have measured the approximate size of this machine but thought ‘pfffft all these machines must be pretty similar. Why, the designs look almost identical.’ So I ordered the cheapest one (this Frigidaire ice machine) at the time. This particular machine though, is so much bigger than Kumio, even though they supposedly produce ice at the same speed. I didn’t plug it in because it dwarfed the coffeemaker I had next to it, and also so much deeper and wider I couldn’t use the appliance counter other than holding this machine and my coffeemaker. Luckily I was able to return it and get a refund, and got truly compact (AGLUCKY Ice Makers... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFH9Q461?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share) and it’s working out for me so far. So if you’re thinking about buying countertop ice machine, I recommend measuring the approximate size before buying and once you buy one, wait long enough after cleaning it. ... show more

    • I loved it while it worked.
The hose for my ice machine is cracked and leaking, it would be an easy repair, but I can’t seem to find a replacement hose. I’ve seen reviews or people said they have to replace this every six months. That’s about how long mine worked. I would get the warranty.

3 months into using this ice maker and really like it! We keep it on the counter in the wet bar but we also make ice and bag it to store in the freezer. Highly recommend!

    • Interesting Kitchen Addition
We've been making ice everyday as our in door icemaker in our fridge is not working. There isn't a lot of difference in the size between small and large ice. The smaller ice melts really fast. The larger ice comes out more like hard packed snow and almost melts in your mouth. Still, it works pretty well for a two person home. I dont think it would work too well for a party where a lot of ice is needed. It is surprising how much ice can be made in a 24 hour period. For a party it would be wise to spend the day before making a freezing the ice. We have been using one gallon zip lock bags to store the extra ice. The operation is simple. A light comes on when the ice tray is full. Dump the tray into a storage device for the freezer and put the tray back in. A light also comes on when it needs water. Fill it up to the line inside the ice-maker and off it goes. Note: It would really be nice if there was a buzzer or a bell to let me know when the ice is done or the machine needs water. About the only complaint I have is the machine is noisier than I thought it would be, While making ice you can hear the machine working in the next room. I was expecting the noise of the ice dumping into the tray. I like that sound. Just not the operational noise. I would recommend this ice maker as a good place to start. Bigger families might want to get one with a larger capacity if they use a lot of ice. So far my wife and I are liking this ice-maker. I think you will to. ... show more
