Saved My Dell WD19S

I have a Dell WD19S that has worked great overall, aside from one annoying issue: the fan would constantly ramp up to full speed even under virtually no load. I used this kit to replace all of the original thermal pads and add a few extras where needed. The variety of thicknesses was especially helpful since different components inside the dock had varying gaps to the main metal heatsink plate. I can’t provide exact temperature measurements, but I can say that I haven’t heard the fan ramp up to full speed in over a month since installing these pads. They’re easy to cut, easy to apply, and so far seem to perform exactly as intended. Huge savings compared to replacing a dock.

I didn't know graphics cards could have a midlife crisis, but here we are.

So, my Asus ROG Strix 5700 XT — a graphics card that’s supposed to be a symbol of cutting-edge technology and high-performance gaming — was acting like it belonged in the core of a collapsing star. We’re talking 90°C+ on the GPU dye and a 110°C+ hotspot. These temperatures aren’t just “hot”; they’re “please evacuate the building” hot. Every gaming session felt like I was rolling the dice on whether my GPU would spontaneously combust or just gracefully crash to desktop. I needed thermal pads; Fast, Cheap, and Effective. Because let’s face it, when you’re already dealing with a GPU that doubles as a space heater, you don’t want to spend more money on thermal pads than you spent on your last power bill. Enter this $12.99 six-pack of Frienda Thermal Pads. Six different thicknesses, all in bright blue, because apparently, the silicone pad industry decided that thermal management should look like a 1990s Nickelodeon prop. Along with some fresh thermal paste (because if you’re opening up your GPU and not reapplying thermal paste, what are you even doing with your life?), I slapped these pads on the heatsink. And what happened next was nothing short of a miracle. Sub-70°C on the GPU dye. Mid-80s on the hotspot. After an hour of near-100% GPU utilization, my once-dying graphics card now runs cooler than I do in social situations. No crashes, no panic. Just glorious, stable performance. It’s like my GPU finally stopped having a meltdown and got itself a therapist. Plus, these pads come in a variety pack. You get 0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm, and 3mm pads — meaning unless you’re trying to insulate a volcano, you’ve got something for every scenario. And you’ll have leftovers. Enough to handle future builds, repairs, or just that creeping sense of dread that another component is going to decide it also wants to simulate the surface of Mercury. Will these pads continue to perform over time? Who knows! The universe is chaos. For now, they work. And at $12.99, they’re a low-stakes gamble that paid off. If you’re staring at your GPU temps and wondering if you’ve accidentally built a miniature reactor, I can’t recommend these enough. Your GPU deserves to live.

Good assortment of thickness

I’d buy again if I need to re apply thermal pads again on a graphic card. Came with a good assortment of thickness. Only gripe is these pads aren’t very spongy so they’ll need to be close to the right thickness. On the other hand it does make them good at transferring heat.

Great price, incredible performance

First of all, it's great to find a kit that includes all thicknesses, from .5 to 3mm. The material looks and feels very good, and the heat dissipation has been excellent so far. I used it to replace the factory ones that were crumbling or melted on a 3080 TI FTW3 Ultra, and so far it has done an amazing job. My temperatures were above 50 degrees Celsius when idle, and now they are below 41. I’ll continue to provide updates as time goes on. /Primero, es buenísimo encontrar un kit que traiga todos los grosores, desde .5 hasta 3mm, el material se ve y se siente muy bien, y la disipación de calor ha sido excelente hasta el momento, la use para remplazar los de fabrica que estaban hechos polvo o derretidos de una 3080 TI FTW3 Ultra y hasta ahora ha hecho un trabajo increíble, mis temperaturas estaban arriba de los 50 grados en IDLE y ahora no pasan de 41. Adhesive not very strong, small pieces fall off

Great set of thermal adhesive pads

I use these to bridge the air gaps between the hot ICs on Raspberry Pi boards and their aluminum heat dissipating cases. It’s the selection of pad thickness that allows me to customize each pad for the distance between chip and case. If a pad is too thin, insufficient heat is transferred. Too thick and the PC board warps as the case screws are tightened. These allow me to get it just right.
