Yes, it looks like my grandmothers footstool. That's part of why I bought it. I got it for my old cat, who needs a little boost to get up on the couch. I remembered my grandmother had one that had storage in it where she kept her embroidery and mending kits. It's the perfect size and height for the cat, while taking up little space. The pattern is a bit fussy, but oddly enough it helps it blend in while still being visible. Took about two minutes to assemble because the screws for the legs are so deep. The legs did not come with "feet" although there are screw-holes to attach something apparently It's just a foot rest with storage, but it would work also as a place for little kids, or old cats, to sit. ... show more

I had gotten rid of a foot stool that Id purchased years ago for quite a bit more. This one looks the same but the tapestry is not as tightly woven. The amount of padding is good but not really plush if thats what you are looking for. Nice storage for remotes or whatever you need. It’s lightweight and easy to move. I bought this to put under my desk at work…super easy to assemble. I wasn’t into the fabric choices available but for $20 I figured I could reupholster it easily. It was even easier than I thought! Using leftover fabric from a different project I was able to transfer the piece to match the rest of my office and give me a comfortable spot to put my feet on while doing work. Also, I love the lift-top storage. My office is small and I don’t have many places to store things. This is a very small piece - there's room for me to perch both feet easily and you could store something really small, like remotes for the TV or some pet snacks.
