I was looking for a basketball hoop for my son's bedroom. Initially I was looking at the big ones that stand alone (arcade style) but they were either expensive, had poor reviews, or were sold out because of the Christmas holiday. I was hesitant to get this because of the price-- it's just a over the door hoop, and Target was selling it for $25. After waiting a week for Target to get it back in stock (they never did), I just bought this one. I'm happy I got it-- it's high quality, actually worth the price, and works very well. My son loves it. The ball return flies the ball right at you- with some pressure, so depending on the height of your kids, it may hit them in the face (like my son). The fan is pretty loud, as is the sound which unfortunately you can't lower the volume on-- this is the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars ... show more

This was a bit of a disappointment. The ball does not flow through the tube unless the unit is turned on which requires batteries. A wheel inside the tube "shoots" the ball back out and that wheel blocks and holds the ball in the tube if the unit is turned off. A simpler indoor basketball goal would have been sufficient for playing basketball on rainy days. The tube and wheel just serve to slow down play and my kids were quickly bored by this contraption. Sometimes simpler is better. The score board did not work properly - some scores were recorded while others were not. Too much "bling" - not enough quality. ... show more

    • Don’t waste your money: Weak motor, doesn’t work

First, this only hangs on the outside of doors (I.e. it won’t fit if you are trying to hang it with a door stopper at the top of the door frame). And the height is not adjustable, as the mechanism immediately failed. Second, and perhaps most importantly, the motor is incredibly weak and will not “return” the ball. Rather, the wheels inside come to a halt when the ball is in the chute making it incredibly frustrating to retrieve the ball. Third, the score board and “announcer” isn’t worth it. We tried turning that feature off in an attempt to give the return motor more “oomf” and couldn’t figure out how to even do that. I would say the volume (which is NOT adjustable) isn’t terribly loud, so that would have been a plus for us... but generally not worth it. Overall, this was a waste of money. My poor kiddo was so excited for this on Christmas morning and here we are, two days after Christmas, with the toy sitting on the porch waiting for UPS to pick it up and return it back to Amazon. ... show more

My 8 year old son WILL NOT stop playing this thing! He loves it and shows it off to anyone who comes over. He enjoys practicing his shots as this system delivers the ball right back to him after he makes a shot (ball is included by the way in case anyone was wondering). The motor is a bit loud against his bedroom door but that's okay, it doesn't both me (too much). What a great buy! If your kids love basketball and you allow them to play indoors, I say get it for them, it will keep them busy for hours! ... show more
