The initial clock that I received developed, in a short period of time, a loud, pronounced grinding noise in the central mechanism. That first clock's mashing punctured any silence in the rooms that it was placed. And I noted so, in the original review. The vendor read that review, and offered up a replacement clock, which is, to date, as quiet as the proverbial church mouse. I'm happy with their responsiveness, and, to date, with the new unit, which was quickly shipped. So, there's points here for the vendor's desire to make things right. To complete the Dickensian analogy: "It is a far, far better keeping of time (now) than was done before."

This clock replaced an old kitchen clock which made an obnoxious ticking noise. When I discovered this clock and it was advertised as being "silent", I was a bit skeptical. But I took a chance and lo and behold, the clock really is silent. Some of the other reviews here say it's cheaply made, but that is far from the truth. Sure, it's made out of plastic but the bezel is a nice bronze finish and the face is a nice tan or parchment color. The old clock was finished wood but this clock looks better than it did. Get this clock, you won't regret it!

Now really, under $15? This is a great looking clock (i got the bronze look) to replace insomnia inducing loud ticker, with a similar look. Been a few days and no problem w accuracy. Note: you can just hang it on the nail you had on the wall, however the hanger provided looks like it will keep the clock more straight. I'll get around to it. The sweep hand is silently smooth turning, it does not "step" in one second clicks. I really like this clock. EDIT June 10, - now that I've had this clock going for a few weeks - it is still noiseless and it keeps time very well (its not an "atomic" clock but) it stays the same as the time on my cell phone. So for the price, i'll have to tack on another star. 6 stars? : )

I purchased three different "silent" clocks at the time I bought this one nine months ago. This one is actually completely silent and has worked flawlessly. The other two (from a different manufacturer) make a loud whirring noise and burn through batteries. They are worthless. I'm buying another clock from Foxtop (to replace one of the noise, battery eating clocks). I'll see if it is as silent and update this review accordingly.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this clock for my daughter-in-law. I asked my 15 year old son help to unbox and start the clock. He handled it pretty well. So it proves that it is very easy to install. It is light weight and silent. My daughter-in-law likes it a lot.

UPDATE: 10/28/2020. I’m so impressed with this clock. Since installing it over a year ago it still has kept perfect time to the second, something I never expected. ORIGINAL POST FROM LAST YEAR: My original RV wall clock fell off the wall after 15 years. This was a nice replacement...better, in fact than the original. This one doesn't tick and drive you batty at night, and the seconds hand sweeps smoothly and doesn't jump like my old one. I cannot understand why they don't want you to use an alkaline battery in it, but nuts to that. I'm not going looking for old-school carbon batteries when I have dozens of Duracells in my cabinet. I'll be watching to see if it gains time and if it does then I will know why.

I put a bronze-toned clock in my master bathroom, and it not only looks nice but is very quiet, as promised. My husband wants no noise as he is falling asleep, so a quiet clock was imperative. I wanted a clock that I could see while I was in the shower, so I could know the time while getting ready for work. It replaced an unattractive clock radio. The clock in the photo is in my den and it is a pretty green that coordinates with the colors in the room. Yes the clocks are plastic, but once hung, they look great on the wall. You can't tell how lightweight they are...which I find a plus as it shouldn't fall out of the dry wall. The plastic hanger that is included is a must-use, as I found that it keeps the clock flush to the wall and fits in the small opening on the back of the clock. A regular picture hanger didn't work for it (at least not for me). Some reviews mention that the battery doesn't fit...but it does, you just have to snap it in which takes a little work, but not impossible. I am very happy with my purchase. The numbers are large, I like the ivory face, and both serve their purpose in an attractive way. The price is good, too.
