The connection was stable most of the time, and the speed was decent for browsing and streaming. It’s quite portable, fitting easily in my bag. Would have given a zero star if I can . Tried calling the customer care number they provided for help and there is actually no such number available. Since it says global i expected it to be able to purchase data when traveling to the Caribbean how ever unfortunately the barcode to scan for data package only direct you to a page or noted that is defaultly written download.... This portable hotspot is similar to the ones you can buy from the big mobile carriers (t-mobile charges $5/day of 500MB at 4G LTE speed with their hotspot plan). This hotspot charges nothing during the 10GB / about 2 month free trial. After this trial, you have go to shopskylink's website to add more data, and it will set you back $2/day of unlimited data (4G LTE). Once connected, it seems to go through a t-mobile tower, and the speed is what I get using a t-mobile hotspot, which is decent but not great. Youtube runs up to 1080p, but twitch tops out at 480p and starts to lag at 720p. During my first run, I streamed 5 minutes of a twitch live stream at 480p, which used about 200MB of data. At this rate, I'd burn through the free 10GB in a little over 3 hours. With it's small size, and color large screen that tells you data usage and connection status in real time, this hotspot would be great for someone who travels a lot, or doesn't have the best home internet. Setup is easy and secure, it shows you a QR code which auto pop's the network password into your wifi device (assuming your device has a camera, otherwise you'll need a device that can read qr codes to get the password, and then enter it manually). There's no intrusive app to download. So is this hotspot worth 70 bucks? I'd say probably, for emergencies anyway. Sure, your cellphone plan includes a hotspot already, but this is going to be a bit faster and more stable. ... show more

Setup is easy. It functions ok for basic connection to check email and web surfing, but isn't really fast enough for streaming videos.
