I bought the Fluance DB10W 10-inch Low Frequency Powered Subwoofer for Home Theater (Natural Walnut) to add to my Fluance A61 powered speakers for listening to my old LP records. What a great bass enhancement. Really made a big difference in how rich the sound is.

A while back I started to build up my stereo system so I could finally listen to my vinyl again. I bought Klipsch RP600M speakers, the Fluance RT85 turntable, and paired it with an older Yamaha amp. Given the abuse my 63-year-old ears took decades ago this I knew I didn't want to blast my music (not to mention I don't need to annoy my neighbors (I live in a small apartment with neighbors on either side). I'd heard the Klipsch might be a bit 'bright' sounding (code for not super base?). And after about 2 weeks I saw that while the Klipsch has great detail and expansive sound stage I was forced to use the EQ to bring up the base on base centric music such as Mingus and Thundercat. So I went to the forums and asked for recommendations for a sub that sounded good a lower (40% range) volumes. Once the laughter subsided and a few 'That's an oxymoron man! you can't have both base and low volumes'. But I kept researching and eventually ran across this Fluance DB10W 10-inch sub. The price was right, it has a good set of controls and connection variety (important for my older amp). So I tried it. Within 24 hours of setting it up I knew I'd found what I needed and Fluance once again hit the mark! Thank you Fluance both for the turntable and the sub. (btw... at the risk of being a noob... what is 'Sheerness' I didn't give the sub a ratting on that because I don't know what it means, does it mean sharpness, definition, clarity, transparency, brightness... once again does the language of audio fall short? :) ) ... show more

I like the look and how easy this sub hooked up to my Fluance I8 speakers. But both the Subwoofer and I8 tower speakers 🔊 are just OK when it comes to sound quality. I expected a lot more. These are probably just a step above my Vizio 5.1 surround speakers which are hundreds of dollars less. The sound quality is good but it definitely isn't going to blow you away. ... show more

I was creating a whole new home stereo setup because I was tired of playing music through my home theater and wanted a real "stereo" again, plus I wanted to play my vinyl collection. Pairing this subwoofer with the Fluance powered floor standing speakers created the ideal sound stage for music! As you'll see in the photo, this subwoofer matches the speakers and my mid-century stereo stand perfectly but the real kicker is the way-to-control output of bass from this subwoofer and how it adds just the right punch to anything from classic rock to the full sound an orchestra. I can highly recommend this subwoofer, especially if you're buying any of the Fluance speakers it is best matched to work with. ... show more
