When we renovated our 40 year old beach-front condo we were surprised to find that the kitchen drain could not be lowered enough in the wall to accommodate an 11 inch sink and dishwasher.....not even a 7 inch sink would work....... and though we ended up with a very shallow 5 inch sink, it's modern lines and solid construction have made the best of a bad situation. We went with the optional Franke bottom grate, but I wouldn't bother if my lovely wife hadn't insisted....happy wife = happy life! Note that this unit shipped to us without a drain of any kind but our contractor looked after this with stock parts.
