The software ecosystem isn't great. Bamboo's is much better, and I wish they'd work on that. It's loud, and I've heard some odd sounds from the fans that make me a little nervous only 3 weeks in. That said, for $340 for my first printer, I'm blown away by the engineering. They did a really good job. The touch screen may not feel like an iPhone, but it works just fine. The print quality, speed, precision, and reliability have me floored. It's also the only printer I could find in this range that has HEPA and charcoal filters with internal and external circulation. I threw some Kapton over the doors when printing in the house to better seal the system, but having the backbones of a proper filtration system is huge. The flashforge specific Orca slicer works great. I'm an aerospace mechanical engineer and I couldn't be more impressed for the cost. I love it. I really do.

5 stars for kid friendly, adult approved, fun... Set up is super easy., DO NOT USE THE MOBILE APP!!! 1. Open the box, 2. Set up the printer, 3. Watch 400 videos to figure it out, 4. Download the correct software 5. start printing. We are on day 1 of prints ( day 4 of having it out of the box and messing with the mobile app. I fully recommend going with the AD5X vs. The Adventure 5m pro. From pictures and advertisements it looks like you can print multi-color, with 5m Pro. but it is a single color filament printer. In fact, the 5m pro requires manual changes of colors to print in multi color, though the advertisements show very colorful prints. We were devastated by this. I wish we would have paid attention, before ordering. Additionally we purchased during prime day i. October and were purchasing as a Christmas gift for kids, so we were well outside the return window, or we would returned it for the AD5X version. There are a few notes to the next buyer, looking for your 1st 3d printer. 1. Stop messing with the mobile app. It is useless and I only had errors for 3 days before moving on to the home computer or laptop. After watching several videos and drpping the mobile spp, we download to computer, the "flashmsker" by flashforge software, Then, we were on our way.. This software is what you need to upload the prints, slices, and create a file that will load to the unit, for printing. 2. Order extra filament, day 1. The flash forge is nice, in that, you can tell it what filament type you are using and it will do the job for you, as it pertains to heat and configuration. All of this can be done in the software. So easy to use. 3. There are a ton of websites to download free STL files, or if there is a very specific print or you are trying to ecommerce, there are pay sites as well. Final; great 3d printer, easy to use once you download the right software to laptop. Forget the mobile app bs. This is lots of fun for all ages. Order the multicolor unit. Other wise cool unit.

I have had my 5M Pro for almost a year and it's been pretty good. Several times during operation the front cover of the nozzle assembly would pop off. It's only held on by magnets and 2 short pins. A week or so ago, it fell off again only this time disconnecting the power plug for the nozzle fan. Some fool must have designed the position of this connection. I can't use my fingers as the area is too small. I have been using bent tweezers. You have to push hard to get the connector up in there. The mating connector is just soldered to a pub board so now I think it's wiggled enough that the solder connection is compromised. Why not have the connector turn 90 degrees to the front or better yet give it a inch or two of wire so you can grab both. I still haven't got it fixed. May have to buy new nozzle assembly which is just under a $100 and they sell the whole machine now for $500. Maybe I should sell this and get a better machine from someone else. This should not happen if properly designed.

I have had it for over a month now and I have gone just one day without printing something. Right out of the box, it works wonderfully and is a lot less hassle than the reviews led me to believe. In fact, I tried tinkering with settings when I thought it needed it a couple of times, when really, all I needed was to calibrate the machine from the app on my phone (or from the device). Very simple! Setup was easy and with OrcaSlicer, prints are very easy! To be fair to some people who have complained, I had to learn to use the calibration option a couple of times when prints didn't look great or they started off not too good. Auto leveling helps a lot too. That's perfectly okay. You can't learn if you don't mess up a few prints. I am still doing that, but my successful prints are far more than the ones that don't turn out. I have also learned that it helps to modify the gcode to print a line before it does it's nozzle cleaning routine, to get the first piece of filament out of the way. As a word of caution, don't use ChatGPT. There isn't enough content out there to draw from and so it will give you bad advice! Printables.com is your friend. It's quiet, clean, and fun. Definitely worth the purchase!

I’ve been poking at 3D printers for over a decade. I’m coming from a liquid resin printer and was looking to get away from the mess of that. I debated a lot between this and the much more expensive silver one. I was willing to spend the extra to have a printer I can trust to churn out parts without constant oversight. Very happy I saved the money and bought the flashforge. Excellent prints out of the box, lots of support online for tuning, orca works well enough with it. Fast, quiet, and reliable. Follow the instructions to let the machine do its calibrations and huck a print job at it. You won’t be disappointed. The parts even come out dimensionally accurate(within reason). The ability to stack some shapes in tinkercad and have a functional jig or bracket in 30min is irreplaceable.

I’ve gotten nearly over 200 hours printing since I received this unit in early November. Easy to use, more or less. My biggest fault is with the control Flashforge maintains over networking and sending jobs to the printer. My biggest peeve is you cannot connect directly to the printer by an on board web interface. You have to go through their software and their servers that may be in US are in China and they have the capability to shut everything down with this control if they need to/want to. However, I have had great success. I printed all my Christmas gifts this year with it. A couple of recommendations. Immediately buy some more spools of filament, what comes with it barely gets you started with the test times on board. And spend an extra $20 and get an extra extruder feeder. That way if the unit does come up for whatever reason, you can immediately replace it with about 30 minutes of work instead of an hour or more having to clean the extractor. Also, in time you’ll need to consider getting a heater/dryer. Especially if you work with PETG or PTG filament. Their quality can be affected quite easily by moisture, humidity in the work area. And the package says use within a week or dry in vacuum seal. The average beginner won’t have to worry about this technicality. So far I’ve used most of the different types of filament, with a little bit of reading and research everything works One of the items that’s pictured is a snowflake serving tray that I increased the rim height design and then covered the design with clear epoxy resin.

Repeated issues with this printer and their support team is unhelpful at best. You will spend plenty of time wasting filament, print nozzles, and beds and they expect you to fix it yourself after their firmware updates mess up your machine. I've had issues with the filament failing to feed and the nozzles gouging the print bed. I refuse to ever buy anything from this company again.
