Both times this item was delivered the boxes were damaged.. it was returned quickly.. they were great to work with.. second time it was still damaged but we were able to paint and hide the imperfections. It looks great in the room we placed it in.

    • Sturdy build, quality lacking
Color: Black
Pretty easy build, looks great as a whole, and very sturdy once everything is together. Unfortunately, it has some quality issues. Several dents, scratches, damaged corners, and uneven connections. Mine was also short one bolt, but luckily I happened to have one from another build that was the right size. A couple of build tips: 1. Keep in mind you’re building the shelf face down. The instructions will label the side shelves as left and right, and that might confuse you if you think you’re building it face up. 2. While the final build is quite sturdy, the pieces are just particle board, so don’t screw the bolts too tight or you’ll crack it. 3. Instead of using the included wall anchors and putting holes in your drywall, just use wall hanging adhesive strips. The weight is well distributed, and it’s not that big, so adhesive strips should be more than enough to keep it in place. ... show more

    • The trick to getting the camlocks right
Color: Black
Put the first 2 camlocks in first on the bottom (longer piece). Make sure the little arrows are pointing up. Then put the long bolts (stems) in. Turn the cams to the right until the arrows are pointing down. Then put the next 2 cams in with arrows pointing up. Then flip the first board upside down before inserting the bolts (stems) and then tighten. Reason: Gravity helps the bolts settle into the cams before you try to tighten. Otherwise. The second set of cams can not get a good grip on the bolts. Took me about 3 hours to put this thing together by myself. I finally discovered the trick. The verdict: Shelf is thin and not very sturdy. But I worked too hard to quit on it now. 😃 However, it definitely wasn't built for many books, I'm afraid. It's not a bookshelf. ... show more

It's a little shorter than I expected, but it works. Fairly simple to put together. I like the design, more interesting than just a set of straight shelves. Looks good in my office.

I could not even assemble this thing. The screws have dull ends, so they can't be screwed in, and the holes are so shallow that the screws cannot go into them. You'd have to drill the holes deeper to get the screws in, and even then, you couldn't screw them in because they can't penetrate the wood, being dull and all. Waste of money.
