    • Mid-Back Mesh Computer Chair: Good, simple work chair

Needed a simple, reasonably-priced computer chair that swiveled and had adjustable height, a functional chair for the home office, so making a brief foray through a few local office supply stores, came here to Amazon to do some checking. The Flash Furniture WA-3074-BK-GG Mid-Back Black Mesh Task and Computer Chair seemed to be a good choice, as I wanted to try a mesh-back chair, primarily for breathability in the summer. Also didn't want a chair with any arms, as they get in the way with my personal work habits. The chair arrived in under 48 hours (thanks, Amazon Prime), and was boxed very well. The the assembly directions were reasonably clear, and it took less than half an hour to put together with the included Allen wrench. The five included caster wheels were perhaps the most difficult part of the assembly, but with a bit of wiggling they all slipped in. Fiddled with the pneumatic seat height adjustment for a few minutes, and I had a work chair. After a few weeks of use, I can make a few observations. The mesh back turned out to be more comfortable than I expected, and no wonder many like them. It not only breathes, but the support is quite good, even after hours. But... the "2-inch Thick Padded Mesh Seat" as stated in the product description is the thinnest two inches that I've ever encountered in a chair. Maybe it would be better if a more dense foam had been used. Will probably be looking for a supplementary seat pad at some point. If you're looking for a reasonably-priced chair that's similar and has arms, the Flash Furniture Mid-Back Black Mesh Computer Chair may fit your needs, but be sure to read the user reviews. A better choice might be the Alera Elusion Series Mesh Mid-Back Multifunction Chair , which offers a full range of back and tilt adjustments. Bottom line: This Flash Furniture WA-3074-BK-GG Mid-Back Black Mesh Task and Computer Chair is a decent chair if you're looking for a reasonably-priced work chair for a home office setting. It’s definitely firm... there’s not a lot of padding in the seat. It gets uncomfortable pretty quick. It’s cheap so if you don’t need to sit in it for long periods of time it’s fine. If you need to be in it for multiple hours you should look into getting an additional support cushion. I think most amazon chairs of this type will be similar quality so a cushion might be the best way to go. The hydraulic seat adjuster works perfect. There’s no lean to the back of the chair. Overal it’s sturdy and won’t fall apart, just not the most comfortable. ... show more

I bought this chair to use for sewing. What I like a lot: It's small, and adjusts to a height low enough to comfortably sit at my sewing table. The seat is well padded, and the back ergonomically built to allow me to sew comfortably for hours. I'm under 5' and weigh under a 100 lbs. so this chair is perfect for me. I looked at a lot of chairs and decided on this one because it is simple, straightforward, basic. We actually bought two chairs: One blue and one red. The blue chair actually looks more aquamarine than the shade of blue that appears in the photo. I'm not complaining and Mike didn't actually notice the shade difference. I just tend to be more sensitive to color shades than most. Chairs assembled easily. He had both chairs assembled in about twenty minutes. The chairs do adjust for height up and down but do not lean back. There is a little flex in the back rest, but it doesn't actually lean back. For the price (under $50 each) I am impressed with the construction. The seat is quite comfortable for a low-cost office chair and the wheels roll smoothly over the low-pile carpet in the office. This isn't an "ergonomic" chair by any means, but the back support is sufficient for your typical home office use. Not recommended for extensive use (if you are going to be sitting for six or eight hours a day or if you have back problems, invest in a real ergonomic chair). ... show more
