Im not sure how this chair got so many great reviews. Putting it together was easy and it is leather on the top surfaces and not cheap bonded leather. (Though still a bit thin and cheap for leather. Also doesnt smell like leather hmmm) The sides are all a soft breathable mesh. That material that snags really easy that is made from pantyhose material) The stainless steel does give it a strong look and feel of quality. The wheels are average standard plastic wheels. The padding is quite soft and cozy feeling at first. Those were the compliments and now for my complaints. Im 6'1" 260lbs. At the lowest setting my feel just bearly touch the floor which is fine other than it adding just a little pressure under my legs. The high back of the chair is not a medium back nor a high back. Its a weird in between. So my shoulders are up against the neck pillow part. Forcing me to sit in a "C" shape. If it were just a few inches higher it would be fine for me, but what about someone taller? Anyways on to the part that is becoming really annoying. The super soft and cozy padding, Sure its made in China but Ive only had this thing for a week. Typically there would be coils, and then high-density foam and then a couple layers of softer foam in an executive chair. (Made for sitting hours upon hours) However, I think this chair is made up of just the soft foam. So even though its soft and 4 inches thick, you instantly bottom out to the hard metal/plastic base. Equivalent to a wooden chair with one inch of padding. Or a 20-year-old executive chair. I really want to love this thing but simply have to return it before I burn the thing. Did I get a different chair than everyone else writing reviews here? Compared to a chair you might find at office depot or Costco it is still a 2 star chair even though I want to give it just one star. It is probably worth $120-$150 in which case I would of just given to one of my kids. But for almost $300 its getting returned. Im getting really tired of Made in China products ... show more

    • Heavy chair but horrible design, narrow seat and severly angled back. Very disappointed.

I'm a big guy, 5ft 7in and 410 lbs, so I need a chair that can take my weight, has a wide seat, is comfortable in front of a desk, and leans back nicely to catch my head. I have 2 other similar looking chairs I've ordered online that have met these requirement so I hoped this one would too. The problem with all chairs, not just this one, is that buying a super heavy duty chair online without sitting in it first to test it out is very risky business, as the locking gas cylinder makes it impossible to disassemble and rebox the chair for return. Well, looks are deceiving, because although this chair is very heavy, and resembles my other 2 chairs, it is poorly designed and extremely uncomfortable. For starters, the puffy seat front makes it impossible to get into the chair without holding onto the arms and hopping up into it, other it goes flying backwards and you can end up on the floor. Next, the back of this chair, though high, is not upright enough and leans way back in the sitting position, actually reclining, provide no back support at the desk, and way too far back to even sit and have a conversation with someone. Lastly, even though it accommodates 500 lbs., the designers for got that heavy people are also WIDE people and they put a standard 22-inch width on the seat which is inadequate. Truly Big and Tall office chairs are anywhere from 23.5 to 25.5 inches, 24 inches being the average. This 2-inch difference makes the chair tight to sit in, adding to the discomfort. Bottom line, this is an awful design, so forget abougt it. I plan to put my up for sale on Craigs List ASAP to recover some of my money. ... show more

I bought this chair in January due that I am tall and weigh 300 lb and this chair was suppose to be good to 500 lbs. Well first of all it is not the most comfortable chair, very hard to sit back in and when you do it is not very comfortable. But I use it in my office so I don't sit back a lot. The other thing I found was that in June the cylinder started to fail and now in July when I make the seat to the highest height then sit within minutes I am sitting at the lowest position. So I guess I am going to have to find a remedy to fix this or throw away $300.00. My recommendation is that if you weigh over 250lbs don't believe this chair will work for you. Buy elsewhere!!! ... show more

    • Severely Defective and Disproportionate!

This chair was horrible and esau over priced! Not only was it missing parts, but it had a tear in the material, dents and scratches on the chrome base and the whole seat is lopsided and the back is severely disproportionate and leaning too far back. Also, the tilt feature doesn't work at all. I was told to contact Flash furniture, the manufacturer, directly, but when I did, they just made me jump through hoops and send them pictures only to tell me that they can't help me because it's sold through Amazon. They're the ones responsible for manufacturing the item so why would Amazon be responsible for defects in their product?? Needless to say nothing was resolved! ... show more

Great looking, very comfortable, well made and sturdy office chair! We love it! This chair was well-packaged and arrived via UPS one day earlier than was originally scheduled. All those "Best Seller" and $100 cheaper office chair versions simply fade in comparison, and we've tried a lot of them. Of course, this chair is still upholstered in bonded leather, which after a few years definitely will start to crack and peal off, but they all do. At least this chair was made with comfort and convenience in mind, heavy usage areas on handles and on the sides of the chair itself are upholstered in fabric, and more importantly - this Hercules Series 500 lb chair can easily hold my 6.2 ft and 200 lbs husband, while hydraulics on many other chairs fail on him after a while. I am sure that if this chair would be upholstered in real leather, then it would cost $800-$1,000, but $207.50 (interestingly, Amazon took from me $211.83, although I am a Prime Member) for upholstered in bonded leather and fabric - it is still a great deal! ... show more
