This is day 2 of my having this chair. Putting it together was a slight challenge, but a little though of how to do it I got it done. Some people might need that second person to get it done. Like other reviewers I have to agree its built like a tank and as heavy as one. I don't have any problem with it, it made me feel more confident it would last. I like the metal bottom, I replace the wheels that came with it with the Rollerblade Casters wheels which in the end made it sit just a smidgen higher. Putting the completed seat on the bottom reminded me of putting a seat on one of those electric carts. Another point of confidence it was going to be a good thing. I put it in the office and sat in it. The first thing I noticed is how comfortable the seat is. The way the seat is made over these two days I haven't had the circulation issues with the cutting off of the back of the leg or hip pain that I had be going through lately. I sat back and felt the the form of the seat was comfortable. I sat for a while just to get the feel of things. I noticed that my heal was off the ground which eases pressure on my foot. So far this office chair has met all of what I expected. Of course I have to keep using it and see how it works over time. My one point of concern is the air piston. In most chairs is the first thing to go. But time can only tell if it will be an issue with this chair. I'll try to update this review periodically, when I can remember. Oh just to let you know. Great looking, very comfortable, well made and sturdy office chair! We love it! This chair was well-packaged and arrived via UPS one day earlier than was originally scheduled. All those "Best Seller" and $100 cheaper office chair versions simply fade in comparison, and we've tried a lot of them. Of course, this chair is still upholstered in bonded leather, which after a few years definitely will start to crack and peal off, but they all do. At least this chair was made with comfort and convenience in mind, heavy usage areas on handles and on the sides of the chair itself are upholstered in fabric, and more importantly - this Hercules Series 500 lb chair can easily hold my 6.2 ft and 200 lbs husband, while hydraulics on many other chairs fail on him after a while. I am sure that if this chair would be upholstered in real leather, then it would cost $800-$1,000, but $207.50 (interestingly, Amazon took from me $211.83, although I am a Prime Member) for upholstered in bonded leather and fabric - it is still a great deal! ... show more

I'm a big fellow at 6'3" and right at 340lbs so it's hard to find a "big and tall" chair that can actually handle my size. This chair does! Usually I have to lift the seat of a chair all the way up just to begin being comfortable sitting in it but this one I had to lower it down just so my feet would touch the floor! The cushioning both on the seat and back are gloriously thick and very comfortable. Swivel function is smooth as silk as well as the tilting function. This chair is composed of very heavy duty components and you can tell it's designed to last. The only reason I knocked off one star was the assembly process. Everything was going smooth until it was time to attach the arm rests. They did not line up perfectly and I almost threw my shoulder out trying to get them attached. I did but it was not an easy task. On the upside I know that everything is held together tightly. My only regret was being to cheap to pay for professional assembly, which I heartily recommend to anyone buying this chair. I'd have no problem recommending this chair to anyone looking for something like this for larger people. ... show more

I will start off with the PROs of purchasing this chair: PRO Seller shipped via fedex which ensured prompt shipment (5 days) Box was in good shape and internal components packaged accordingly Padding provides good comfort Base (where wheels are installed) and armrests built with strong/sturdy components/metal Back of chair secures into seat cushion using strong components/metal CON Instructions are incorrect and will cause you to take longer than usual to put together what should be a simple piece of furniture. Questionable design and construction Not entirely stable and does not roll easily -- While sitting the bases moves forward/backward and the wheels are hard to move, does not slide across floor easily With the PROs and CONs being said and having this chair assembled and used for almost 24 hours now I fail to understand why this chair costs almost $250. I wanted a chair that was strong and built to last as opposed to 'garbage' purchased at retailers like Walmart or Target. However, I am a little concerned with how the back of the chair gets secured into the base. I have to think that the average wear and tear, weight/pressure for leaning against the back will potentially harm, if not damage the typical bracket secured to the underside of the seat cushion. It seems comfortable enough for the long hours that I work out of home, however, I will not be surprised if, after another 6 months, this chair is nothing more than scrap. I think this chair should be sold for no more than $150 and asking (approx) $240 for it seems to be a blatant ripoff considering obvious defects with it found thus far. SAFETY ISSUE FOUND!!!! If you work at your desk for extended periods of time and elect not to wear socks or foot attire, the chrome base plate edges are very sharp and will cut into your heel. I am now cleaning up blood all over my office as a result of this. This is a major design flaw. You would think that the edges would be coated or covered with something so that in the event your feet (or any part of your body) comes in contact with this sharp baseplate you will not get hurt as a result. I previously bought a big and tall gaming chair off Amazon. It was nice and lasted me about 2.5 years of work from home/gaming/studying, so I can't complain too much. When looking for a new chair, I wanted one that I was hoping would last longer. I read some great reviews on this chair and decided to give it a try. I'm 5'11" and 350, so I went with the 500lb big and tall chair hoping it would last longer and be more comfortable for me. Pros: + Assembly for me was pretty easy. I understand some people have had problems, but I was able to assemble it with no issues + Owning the chair at first, it was extremely comfortable. I could lean back and sleep in this chair if I needed to. + Delivery was speedy. The product was back ordered when I originally ordered but I was kept up to date on the status + The wheels and base are extremely sturdy. I know a few people complained about hitting their feet on the metal base, but this was never an issue for me. + The leather has been very good quality for me. It's showing some wear on the backing but this is from my cat scratching it, certainly not the manufacturer's fault Cons: - This was a big one for me....I just hit 11 months on this chair and the seat cushion has worn out. I am sitting on the frame and with a bad back it's really been messing with me. I'm disappointed this has happened less than a year after spending almost twice what I spent on my gaming chair, I feel for the price it should have lasted longer. - The Arm rests dig into my side of my thigh. I feel like this shouldn't happen for a big and tall gaming chair. I've lived with it, but I've thought multiple times about removing one of the arm rests just so I wouldn't have this issue. - Some people have said the piston loses pressure and they can't get the chair to go up. I've actually had the opposite problem. The chair, even when I try to sit in it at a lower position, constantly raises itself up and pushes into my desk, which is causing wear on my desk and I may need to replace that soon as well. Overall, I did like the chair, but between the pressure issues in the cylinder and the cushion losing its function, I'm going to look for another chair. It's very frustrating this one didn't last a year. I wanted it to work, it just didn't. I may go back to the same type of chair I bought before as I had decent luck with that. I'd spend the money on a Herman Miller chair, but my lottery ticket I haven't bought yet hasn't turned up a winner, so there's that ;-) ... show more

This Flash Furniture Hercules chair impresses me. It is quite comfortable and ultra-strong. This is a big, heavy chair. I love the cushion at the top. I can lean back and take a nap. I had no trouble assembling this chair. Assembly took about 30 minutes. The only tool I used was the simple allen wrench that comes with the chair. When you assemble yours, follow the diagram, and you will have no trouble. All the parts are numbered on the diagram, and the parts are all numbered, as well. The allen wrench is wrapped with the bolts. Very easy. I have some experience with real leather and faux leather furniture. To prevent cracking and discoloring, I am going to treat the covering using the leather care kit that came with my living room couch. Applying it yearly should be enough, I think. ... show more

When my last chair (a gaming chair) broke, i knew it was time for me to come to terms that I am a big Enby, and I need support. Reviews of this chair said it was a tank, so i thought i'd try it out~ Assembly was a little hard on the arm rests (and only the arm rests. I needed additional help with that) but everything else fit together smoothly. I've had this chair for about a month now, and it is comfortable, sturdy, and has even helped with my back~ Just make sure you build it in the room you want to have it in. Im not sure how this chair got so many great reviews. Putting it together was easy and it is leather on the top surfaces and not cheap bonded leather. (Though still a bit thin and cheap for leather. Also doesnt smell like leather hmmm) The sides are all a soft breathable mesh. That material that snags really easy that is made from pantyhose material) The stainless steel does give it a strong look and feel of quality. The wheels are average standard plastic wheels. The padding is quite soft and cozy feeling at first. Those were the compliments and now for my complaints. Im 6'1" 260lbs. At the lowest setting my feel just bearly touch the floor which is fine other than it adding just a little pressure under my legs. The high back of the chair is not a medium back nor a high back. Its a weird in between. So my shoulders are up against the neck pillow part. Forcing me to sit in a "C" shape. If it were just a few inches higher it would be fine for me, but what about someone taller? Anyways on to the part that is becoming really annoying. The super soft and cozy padding, Sure its made in China but Ive only had this thing for a week. Typically there would be coils, and then high-density foam and then a couple layers of softer foam in an executive chair. (Made for sitting hours upon hours) However, I think this chair is made up of just the soft foam. So even though its soft and 4 inches thick, you instantly bottom out to the hard metal/plastic base. Equivalent to a wooden chair with one inch of padding. Or a 20-year-old executive chair. I really want to love this thing but simply have to return it before I burn the thing. Did I get a different chair than everyone else writing reviews here? Compared to a chair you might find at office depot or Costco it is still a 2 star chair even though I want to give it just one star. It is probably worth $120-$150 in which case I would of just given to one of my kids. But for almost $300 its getting returned. Im getting really tired of Made in China products ... show more
