Got one primarily for a 2014 Mustang but end up using it on all our vehicles. Works great and spells out the issues clearly. Also allows you to track the maintanance items for each vehicle, like Car Fax does which is great. Was able to decipher, fix and clear the engine code without any issues or outside help. UPDATE: So the scanner app has had a couple of updates and I've re-tried it again on my cars. It keeps reading a fault that I had fixed. I checked the car with the other OBD scanner I have and it came up clear. Overall I absolutely still recommend this FIXD scanner, it's better than nothing and it gives good insight. It's also very user friendly. But use it with a grain of salt, or if you can in addition to another scanner. ORIGINAL: I'm starting to look at cars for my daughter and wanted some assurance about the used cars I was looking at. First let me say this was super easy to set up! And it is very user friendly, the information provided after the scan is easy to understand. I definitely prefer it over the normal OBD scanner (you can see it in the background of my picture) and it's small so it fits easily in your pocket or purse. I currently have 2 cars and tested this on both cars because I wanted to make sure the data being provided is accurate. Results: AMAZING!! For the first time ever on Amazon I wish I could give something more than 5 stars! My older car has one big issue that I am aware of but no lights or anything. This picked up on that issue and provided possible fixes and estimated costs associated with each possible repair. My second car is basically brand new, this scanner did not alert to anything (obviously because the car is brand new). I now have full confidence when shopping around that this scanner will alert me to any issues. IT GETS BETTER! This scanner also shows vehicle owner history and theft issues. Great feature! This product is king. I have a 2005 Ford Five Hundred with 157k miles on it and the check engine light comes on periodically. This last time I was like now way what is it now. Took the car to Autozone and they put their scanner on and couldn’t find nothing. I took my car in for oil change at Firestone and they couldn’t find anything. I ran pass this scanner online check to see if it was in Amazon and yes sir. I set it up which was a snap and plugged it in and it registered I needed a new gas cap and displayed why an unfitted gas cap will trigger the engine light to come in. I’m sold! Great product. Overpriced piece of plastic. Bought it as an upgraded version of my outdated OBD 2 scanner. After seeing so many videos of how great this product was and how things have improved through the years, I bought one. I download the FIXD app, plug it into the port, and wait for the reason why my AIRBAG/SRS light stays on. No mentioning of AIRBAG/SRS light, just low voltage and tire pressure; the same info on my gauges. I even have to type in my mileage, something my old, ZURICH, did automatically. My $50.00, Harbor Freight, years old, outdated scanner displayed that the cause was a Right Front Acceleration Sensor was the cause. Now, this "antique" couldn't explain how to fix it or what the cost would be to have it fixed, but after watching YouTube videos, I understood what part that sensor played and how to replace it. FIXD is constantly begging for more money from you for the "latest"/"upgraded" version of a product that just came out. So, for whatever the ever-changing price is, $30.00, $50.00, or $75.00, it will never justify the lack of features, the please subscribe hounding, or the time wasted on this P.O.S. I've had my ZURICH for years and have never had to pay a "subscription" fee and it kicks this FIXD overpriced butt. I think my favorite part is them trying to convince you to buy more than one device, along with more added fees. If the first one sucked, why would I buy a second one? ... show more
