Quality product and nice functional screen

  • GREAT METAL DETECTOR-EASY TO USE!
Size: GoldBug-Pro
Very happy with the Gold Bug Pro so far! Instructions are a lot easier to get started compared to my Garrett AT Gold. Very lite weight. I was disappointed after spending $800, there was no packaging to protect the detector and parts were lose inside the box. A bit expensive, by time you ship to Canada ! A good quality set of headphones and a Double DD coil supplied would be nice! But a great starter detector! Actually far easier to get started with than my Garret AT Gold. AT GOLD is great as well - both great units- highly recommend both. AT Gold is waterproof. I did upgrade the search coil to a 11" DETECH ULTIMATE coil and this coil works great for deep searching and covering more territory! ... show more

  • Easy to use. Detects gold, even small grains very well.
Size: GoldBug-Pro
My Fisher Gold Bug Pro was for some reason NOT shipped in its Original Factory Box. It was placed in a plain box with NO packaging material. This allowed parts to move freely in the box during shipping. Assembly was difficult as the one of the flanges for the rod to search coil was bent inwards. I used pliers to bend it back, but still, placing the bolt through the flange holes was a pain to line up. I'd have preferred that my Fisher Gold Bug Pro had been shipped in its original factory box nicely packed. I paid $549.47 I would have expected better packaging. ... show more

  • Good Intermediate Rig
Size: GoldBug-ProCCMB
Bought this for some outdoor adventuring at my ranch in New Mexico. I take this back into the juniper forest and have found all sorts of interesting things. My favorite was the half-buried mule shoe, as shown. I have also found very old heavy equipment parts, a 1940's era thermos bottle, and a small meteorite (about a 1/4in across). Depths are usually shallow, although I found a mysterious steel pipe buried about 8 inches down in the driveway. After careful excavation, it turned out to be some random piece of pipe. I would never have known it was there without this detector, plus it helped me scour a work area for sharp metals pieces, after some construction work. I've been using this for over a year and I'm still on the first battery! Okay, I don't use it EVERY day, but I am amazed at the battery life. Be sure to add a hand-held detector. The Gold Bug gets one pretty close to the target, but the hand-held detector zeroes in. If it's small, one could really miss something good, using only the Gold Bug. Haven't found any gold nuggets yet, but if they're out there, this device will probably find it. Not flakes, though. It would probably take a small nugget to get a solid signal worth digging for. Great product; good value. Happy customer! ... show more

  • There are more capable detectors out there!
Size: GoldBug-ProCCMB
This detector has been mediocre at best. The readout is counterintuitive, false targets are constant, my screen got a small amount of water on it and the whole display stopped working properly. Poor design for something that belongs outdoors. Not a good overall detector, only useful if you have nuggets around and even then there are much better out there for a bit more money. I regret buying this, and they won't let me return it. ... show more

  • great machine for parks, not so much for gold
Size: GoldBug-Pro
I am a serious hobby prospector and purchased the Gold Bug Pro to find small gold on my claims to dig and process with recovery equipment. I have owned and used the machine for several months and have not yet found a piece of gold. I have found many other items, one being an old pick dated around the late 1800"s. I have a friend who has a GM1K, I have used it on my claims and found gold, very tiny specks of gold. The gold Bug pro is easy to use, very light weight and is moderately priced, but if you are looking for gold spend the extra 400 bucks and get the GM1K, I certainly am. ... show more
