I agree with most of the reviewers: this is a great clock. Thank you for your reviews mentioning there is no sound from the clock. That was key for me and everyone is correct. It's incredibly quiet. If you want a ticking clock, buy something else. This clock is just the right size and looks great in almost any setting. We have it in the middle of the house and glance at it all the time. It's a great clock. It might be nice if it came in other colors but I think the black works with most decor. Interestingly, there are marks inside the 12 - 12:00 larger marks that would suggest a second hand since it is divided into 60 seconds, but there is no second hand. ... show more

This is a large clock that is an eye-catching, artistic display as well as an accurate timepiece. It only takes one AA battery which, when I put it in the back of the clock I thought I must have put it in upside-down since the clock made absolutely no sound at all. I didn't realize that, despite having no second hand, there is a countdown of sorts that you can see as the minute hand silently clicks across the seconds. It is somewhat fragile as you don't want to press on the face too tightly, it isn't a heavy, rugged piece so be gentle. Otherwise, I absolutely love it and I am very picky when it comes to putting something in my space. It looks so much more expensive than it is and I'm so happy I selected this model and this size. It makes a statement and - I always know what time it is rather than trying to see the tiny clock on the cable box under the TV! ... show more
