I bought this based on the fact it claims is robustly protected for outdoor use. I used it once it got wet, couldn’t put cover on it until it cooled off. Definitely not worth $100 if it rusts this easy. One spot is flaking paint after one use too.

    • Nasty chemical taste to food roasted over it
Looks nice, and it’s lightweight and easy to move. The ring that runs around it is a bit too big, and thus difficult to force it into the clams that are supposed to hold it. The WORST part, which made me give a one-star rating, is that we’ve tried twice to cook hotdogs and small chunks of beef over it on steel camping forks, and both times the food turned out unusable, coated with a disturbingly metallic, chemical taste that just screams “unsafe for consumption.” Even when we used store-bought firewood. There’s no odd smell to the smoke, just a nasty taste that it adds to food. ... show more

    • Fun firepit, good value, with low center of gravity
This is our 2nd fire pit replacing one which had rusted and which had a center-of-gravity too high (and was a tipping risk). We like this new fire pit much better. The center-of-gravity is very low (so it won't tip over). The sun and moon cut outs are fun. The cover will mitigate some of the rusting (though we still wet it after using to get rid of embers so I expect some rusting). Assembly was a bit hard because there are long and short screws. Make sure to keep the long screws for the ring step...you don't need them earlier on. Once we switched which screws were used in which step it was pretty easy to put together but that was confusing ;) Have fun and enjoy your s'mores! ... show more

Arrived dent free; easy to assemble just make sure you look carefully at the size of screws and how the parts are attached per directions. I ordered one of these before, and it “walked” away from our yard. After reading past reviews when ordering this new one, I invested in a couple cans of high heat Rustoleum paint to slow the rusting process. We also love the depth of this pit. Holds a lot of wood for a longer lasting fire. Cover and poker included. Great bargain! ... show more

I received this yesterday. Haven't used it yet but put it together. It was pretty easy to assemble. Better to use two people for attaching the ring section though. A tad more complicated than other housewares assemblies I've done but simple enough. It really is beautiful! Arrived in perfect condition. Well packaged. Seems relatively sturdy and of good quality. It is quite pretty. A nice addition to my yard. Really looking forward to putting this to good use. ... show more

This is an adorable fire pit! It was easy to assemble (even for me, and I SUCK at putting things together, plus I have nerve damage in both hands, as well as a huge loss of my fine motor skills, even with all that I had it together in 15 minutes, if you’re naturally gifted at assembly and have full use of your hands it would be even faster) it’s simply adorable and a wonderful addition to our outdoor patio I highly recommend and the price was great too!     • High quality
It was higher quality than I expected, but putting it together was more of a pain than you might expect. I burnt a lot of paper in it, burning very hot and it stood up like a champ. It's been sitting outside ever since and it shows no sign of weathering.

    • dangerous product
caused a fire on my deck where hot sap leaked through the cheap poorly fitted bolt on the leg - DO NOT BUY cost me 40 to replace deck board and it would have burned it down if I wasnt there to observe it
