We love this. We have been heating mainly with our wood stove for the last few seasons. We found that it was really drying the air out. We have friends that put a pot on their stove but we didn't like the look. We found this on amazon. I almost got the smaller version but I am glad I got this larger one. When the wood stove is going it really boils the water and over 5-6 hours it boils off most of the water. Its perfect for what we wanted. This looks really nice on my fireplace insert and somewhat helps with humidity. I am happy with it and it is a good value. I docked a star because I regularly have to clean off rust spots but that is to be expected with cast iron. Overall a good product.

I'm the idiot that didn't notice it was "not for human consumption" and was using it for tea water. . so I feel like I need the poison control center. I just wanted a large tea kettle instead of these 20-40 oz and thought this was fantastic. I honestly had no idea there was a such thing as cast iron that isn't for human consumption. Why it is TINY words, no warning on the package - At any rate, that aside, it's just not good, the coating is bad and it doesn't smell right. Not sure I would want that humidifying my interiod so that I'm long term breathing in what it's putting out. I feel like an idiot, but I think they need to state much more apparent - THIS IS NOT TO DRINK TEA WITH smh.. Glad it was only for one month but that's a long time to drink toxic materials.. hope no one else misses that microscopic sentence and orders this ... show more
