My only complaint is that the screws holding the seat to the pole seem to come loose frequently, which makes the seat wobble. It’s fairly smooth to raise and lower, it does take a certain amount of weight to actually lower when seated- my two youngest kids aren’t heavy enough and it just goes up when you pull the lever with them on it 😆 I love the look and they’re def more comfortable than the previous wooden barstools we had! GREAT value!

They look very good. Nothing visually distinguishes them from what I expected after seeing the pictures. They share a common construction with many modern chairs in that the seat is engineered wood with embedded metal sleeves which attach it to the leg with screws. In my experience, this construction cannot survive somewhat normal treatment such as leaning too far or distributing your weight poorly, even well within the rated weight. Nothing about these chairs makes them seem any different apart from their lack of a backrest. They are fine for what they are, but I've replaced too many chairs like this and I'm finally starting to regret not just spending more money on a chair that can be lived with.

I read all the great reviews and decided to buy 6 of these barstools-hoping they lived up to the great reviews and my expectations. WOW! So happy with the purchase! First, they were wrapped so nice and carefully, and secondly, they were probably the easiest to assemble of online furniture I’ve purchased. At first, I thought the first one I put together was broken, but once you put the actual seat on the base/rod THEN sit on it, it then works for moving up/down to whatever height you want. I am also pleased with the color of the dark brown leather. It looks like real leather and is not shiny like other fake leathers out there. I also like that the metal base is a black mat finish. Overall, very happy and would recommend!
