    • My Elderly Disabled Wife is JAZZED by This Lock!
The locks in our front door would always bind, making the door hard to open or close. In order to use this much-desired deadbolt, I had to fix the hole at the strike plate after 8 years. While I was at it, I replaced the lever lock (below this deadbolt) and fixed the hole on that one too. The instructions were great; however, like so many others, the print was very small. I was however able to complete installation using the small text. (Afterward, I scanned and created a PDF and printed it larger to help in the future.) • Brass keys make a nice backup (provided 3, had 2 more made) • Fingerprint worked as described but is very touchy. Eventually, I plan to do a series of fingerprint captures of my index finger with various placement for each, so that any way I touch it should work. • Keypad codes work well. They are a little bit touchy but you can get used to it. • The fob entry feature is GREAT!!! We both always use this for entry. (provided 2, I ordered 3 more and all 5 were recorded by the lock and work, providing a quick backup if we lose one, without needing to record them later. —My wife is disabled and yet very busy with our nonprofit. She uses a stairlift to go from the driveway to the porch, often carrying things. When she dismounts the stairlift, she can now have her fob in hand and easily open the door, often without needing to set things down first...a HUGE plus! • The ONE TOUCH to LOCK feature is very, very handy. Wake up the keypad, then press and hold the #. • Locking and Unlocking from (manually) inside the house is simple and much like a regular deadbolt; however, I like the feel of the action much better. • Incredibly cool is that the lock talks to you (quietly). When you one touch lock it, it whirs, then says "Locked". When you key in a code, it tells you if your entry failed and to try again...and if code entry was successful, it whirs, then says "Unlocked". It also ques you verbally with instructions while programming. Using the keypad takes practice, but it works very well. Practicing with the door open helps (so you don't lock yourself out for 2 minutes when you don't get it right. The keypad must be awakened (show numbers) before you enter a code, do any recording/programming, or use the one touch lock feature. The lock looks good outside and inside the house. Desiring to have this nice lock got me to fix my front door locks, making life easier. While I was at it and in the mood, I also replaced the deadbolt and lever lock in the back door which had similar "hard to open and close" issues. 5 STARS is well deserved. ... show more

Recently moved to our new place and the previous locks would stick and we're hard to turn with the key. So looking out for my wife who doesn't need an extra key to weigh her down to get in our home. So now she has 3 ways to get in our home. 1 she can flash her handy fob and in a second she's in. 2 she can press either of her thumbs to the fastest finger reader I've seen. And 3. If for some reason we ignore the low battery signal she can use a key. Very easy install took maybe 15 minutes including programming codes and finger prints. Oh my gosh I forgot there's so many features we love. Like the auto lock feature or the lock talks to you, "unlocked or locked" for extra assurance it's looked. Oh and if the wrong password is entered 3x in a row a terrifying alarm goes off! And the lock is disabled for a few minutes. We love the keys aren't visible for a sleek look. Give it a try can't beat the price for a more secure smart lock. ... show more

    • Disappointed
This is my first fingerprint lock and I wanted to love it but it has been a complete disappointment. The fingerprint feature fails more than it actually works. We each have several fingerprints programmed but still end up having to pull out the key to unlock the door. The key is required because after several failed attempts the lock has an alarm that goes off and basically requires the key to open it unless you wait several minutes. I reached out to customer service and they were no help at all so I will be returning it. Like others have mentioned the lock is easy to install and looks great but unfortunately the main feature of the lock doesn’t work properly so now I have to find a replacement from a different brand. Update: (8/1/23) I received a reply from the seller offering to refund or replace the lock. I chose the refund option but it’s been several days and I haven’t received any credit. Yet I have received several messages from tech support asking for my phone number which is a complete violation of Amazon’s third party policy. I declined to provide my number once but yet Barrett continued to ask for it. There would be no reason to need my number in order to provide a refund. Since I haven’t received a refund several days after our last chat I’m just going to assume the manager that offered it is a liar and decrease my rating. ... show more

    • So far so good
After the nightmare I had with my Kwikset Halo I decided to go off-grid and stay away from wifi connected locks. Settled on this for price and functionality. Was easier to install than I had thought it would be. Setting up was a bit daunting, as when I first set up the left/right portion, I know I set it up correctly but the lock read it backwards. Did a full reset and tried again, this time worked, while putting in codes, fobs and fingerprint. Time will tell if it works well in the long run. Some of the parts feel cheap and plastic-y, but seems to be solid enough. Not sure about battery duration or holding up in extreme temps and usage. Will check back in if anything changes but so far all is ok. There are a few really good install videos on youtube I suggest watching before installing. Also the instruction booklet that came with it was for the most part easy to follow. ... show more
