What occurs when the passcode entered is incorrect? When an incorrect password is entered, the “√” button flashes red for 2 seconds and the buzzer beeps twice. How to set up the administrator and user passcodes of the door knob with lock? Press 0 + √ to set the administrator passcode, then enter and confirm a 4–8 digit code. To add user passcodes, press 1 + √, enter the admin code, then set and confirm a 4–8 digit user code (up to 17 users supported). 4. If the batteries die, how can I open the door? or Why I can't charge my door lock? The smart door knob built-in rechargeable battery. You can use an emergency power supply to charge the smart door knob through a USB A+Type C port or use the key to open the door. Keep at least one key in a secure location as an extra precaution. 5. I purchased this knob to protect some personal items in my office; it works great! I was nervous because some of the reviews complained about the functionality of the locking function. The knob was very easy to install (just like any other doorknob) and there is a lock on the inside so the door can be locked from the person on the inside (just like a regular knob). I was also afraid that the knob would be weak or flimsy/breakable but it is so sturdy and strong! The only trouble I had was with the app - it's a little tricky to get to sync the device and then I wanted to add my spouse and that was also not-simple but I figured it out. (My recommendation is to install the knob before syncing to the app). Once the app is set up and you add the fingerprints, you don't need to fuss with the app anymore. The app allows you to unlock the knob with a swipe-button and keeps a log of who unlocked the door. I turned off the knob beep with the app, as well. I also tested the knob by deleting the app and the knob still worked; it also works without WiFi or when the power is out. The battery life on this knob is SO good; I've only charged it once since I installed it (four months ago). The kit comes with a key to unlock the knob (just in case) but haven't had to use it at all. It’s very easy to charge and it charges quickly. I think the only thing that could use improvement is the app. I am happy with this purchase and the price seemed very reasonable to me. I would purchase another one and have recommended this lock to friends and family. This lock does everything I needed and I am very satisfied. Video description: trying to turn the knob without unlocking and then using the thumbprint to unlock, closing the door and showing the door is locked and unlocking again (with the thumbprint).

It was honestly a lot easier to install than I thought it would be. I didn't realize but the app is designed for an entire smart home, not just the door knobs. The hardest part was figuring out the app and getting it set up. All in all it probably took me less than 30 minutes from opening the package to completing. I would definitely recommend and will probably purchase again. The fingerprint recognition is ok, but you have to angle your fingerprint and the specific door Im using it on makes it a little bit awkward. The lock is good and durable, its quick to open, and you can easily turn off the beeping. It also works as a normal lock with a key and knob if thats what you want. Overall its pretty good just a bit bulky and you can notice how big it is if you really look at it, otherwise, just passing by you would never be able to tell.

We needed to install this doorknob on our pantry because a certain child was going in and taking candy when he wasn't supposed to. Install was easy, if you've ever installed a door knob. Functionally, it's great. One issue we noticed was adding multiple users in the app - my wife and me. Hers would randomly stop working. I just added her as additional fingerprints under my setup and it's worked flawlessly ever since. Not surprisingly, wet thumbs do not work well with it. It has been installed for over 8 months, and I just charged it for only the second time. It is probably used 5-10 times daily. Very happy with the battery life. The only issue is it was difficult to find a charger which would work. Like a lot of things these days it does not come with a charger, and none of my chargers would work. The only one I could get to work is the USB-C port on the outlets I installed in the kitchen. This is true for another device I've purchased recently as well. I guess that's why it's called UNIVERSAL serial bus. It universally doesn't work. :) Even with the couple issues I mentioned, for my use it's still 5 stars.

TL;DR - I desperately wanted these to work and when they do they are a game changer. Unfortunately they're just not reliable enough for me to recommend. The software is solid. The hardware, particularly the mechanical interior parts required for any doorknob to unlock and and lock is hit-or-miss. Bluetooth connectivity is also a problem. Also, charging the doorknobs can be problematic for some. For context, we have five of these doorknobs in our home that we purchased over the course of three months from several different listings, but all from this same brand. They all function the same way and I can guarantee you have nearly identical hardware inside. The only difference is color and style. First, THE GOOD: PURPOSE: From just a basic functionality standpoint, doorknobs with a fingerprint reader are wonderful. As a family with four young children (one diagnosed with ADHD), being able to control which of our young kids enter which rooms, which have access to the pantry, keeping out kids from our master bedroom while allowing us easy access, etc. is a GAME CHANGER. FINGERPRINT RELIABILITY: Others have complained about the reliability of the fingerprint reader but we haven't had issues. Some things to know: The reader will not work if you mash your finger on the reader with all of your strength. A light touch makes it 100x more reliable. Also, because it's an electronic sensor, you will need to clean your doorknobs more often than you would otherwise (maybe once per month with a damp cloth), especially if it's in an area like the kitchen where you're frequently grabbing the doorknob with dirty hands. THE BAD: OVERALL RELIABILITY: Something is defective in the internal mechanism of two of the five doorknobs we purchased. The fingerprint reader recognizes my fingerprint, turns green, and I can hear a 'click' to unlock the door, but it doesn't unlock. On one in particular you can unlock the door (either through fingerprint or the app) five or six times and still the door is locked. The lock is basically unusable at this point. BATTERY LIFE/CHARGING: The description says up to 12 months on one charge but in our experience it's around 2-3 months if you're using the door regularly. And they have USB-C ports to charge but weirdly enough you can ONLY charge them with cables where the input side is USB-A (USB-C to USB-C cables WILL NOT WORK, I've tried several cables and chargers to verify this). Thankfully we had an old phone charger with a USB-A port or this would have been a bigger problem and makes it a problem for most people who are installing smart devices in their home. LATCH: This is mentioned in the description, but these are all exposed mount, meaning screws must be used above and below the latch. That means if you plan on using them on interior doors you may have issues installing them appropriately. BLUETOOTH: The knobs use Bluetooth to connect to your phone when adding fingerprints or unlocking via the app. The connection is frustratingly unreliable, often taking multiple minutes and several attempts when I'm standing right next to the knob with my phone.
