I cannot comment on how this will last over time. I just received it two days ago. I can say that the materials seem to be very high quality. The microphone piece "seems" to be made out of metal. If not, it's some sort of very well coated plastic metal coating. The same for the base. The unit is heavy and the goose neck feels tight and positive when you bend it, no creaking or slop. It stays where you put it and does not tip over due to cable placement or tension. I plugged it in to test it, and Windows 10 immediately picked it up and I was able to adjust microphone settings in Windows. I also cannot comment on quality of recording. I bought this to talk in Discord for games I play. For my application, it seems to work well. I tested it with Discord about two feet from my mouth, and everyone said they could hear me clearly and loudly. That's all I need. Note: Make sure you know where to adjust microphone volume (gain) so you can adjust the sensitivity of the microphone. Windows makes this hard to find for the average user, thanks to Microsoft trying to make Windows look like a Phone app. To adjust microphone input level: 1. Right click on task bar icon. 2. Choose: OPEN SOUND SETTINGS (This is the Playskool like Windows app that will open. You don't want this). 3. Choose: DEVICE PROPERTIES under the "Output" settings. 4. In the new panel that options, scroll down to RELATED SETTINGS. 5. Choose ADDITIONAL DEVICE PROPERTIES 6. NOW the old school Windows' options will open. This is where you can get control of your microphone and other audio devices at the driver level. This is what you want. 7. Choose: RECORDING in the panel tab (This is what Old Windows use to look like before the Playskool, dumb down version of Windows redesign.) 8. Once in the RECORDING tab, click on MICROPHONE. You now have two options: CONFIGURE and PROPERTIES. Alternately, you can also right click on the entry "Microphone" to get the same options. 9. Choose: PROPERTIES. 10. Click on the tab: LEVELS. 11. Here is where you can FINALLY set you microphone input volume, called "Microphone" and microphone "Boost." Don't use "boost" unless you need to . Just turn up the microphone to your desired level, and check first. ... show more

    • Small. Simplistic. Stylish!
Like clockwork, FIFINE delivers once again! An incredibly compact, flexible and potentially colorful addition to an already existing set of microphones that continue to challenge the competition - both in terms of quality and most importantly monetary value. I will not sit here and exclaim that the overall quality of the audio is top-notch cause it's not and could very easily get away from you if proximity to the microphone changes often however given the price tag this device will serve the majority, and serve them well. FIFINE's K050 is a USB Plug-And-Play with plenty of cable (6.56 FEET) to get this thing where you need it to be and it's almost unbelievable size will have it fitting anywhere, guaranteed. To build on this, as a USB Plug-And-PLay you'll be off the races quick as a simple connection is all that's needed to get this microphone operating on most any device! Furthermore, with it's gooseneck capabilities even more ergonomic opportunities will be yours by the plenty when looking to set this guy up! It's slick, clean, colorful - if you do so choose - and is quite sturdy all things considered with it's hefty, metal base to keep things steady! And at only $15 you just can't beat that. As said prior, there are better microphones out there that will provide far more sound quality than the K050 but I can assure you that the most of them will not be sitting at a similar price tag nor will they be as properly built as this guy. If you are just starting out or just looking for an affordable audio device to talk to friends across the internet then I'd look no further cause why break the bank for things so simple? For content creators I cannot suggest this to anyone beyond beginners and perhaps intermediate producers but to each their own I suppose, and for the rest of you I just wish to simply direct your attention to FIFINE - they DESERVE your attention as a company and have never disappointed. A great looking and discrete mic that works for my limited desk space (48" desk). When talking, I recommend having it within 1 ft from where you are sitting though.

The new FiFine USB Micrphone sounds far better than the laptop's mic or any of my bluetooth headphones. I'm using this mic connected to a MacBook Pro for VoIP phone calls and Zoom meetings. I've been told by others on the calls that I sound much better using this FiFine USB Microphone, compared to the mic built into my various headphones. This microphone seems well made and durable. It has a solid feel and does not take us much room on my desk as you can see in the photo. (The mic can be seen to the left of the box). I like that this mic is shorter than other brands and it does not block the view of my monitor or get in my way. The packaging was nice and includes detailed instructions in the box. I believe the price is justified, however there are some similar microphones with a mute button for a few dollars less. I'd prefer if this mic had a mute button (it does not), but the sound quality is more important to me, and is the reason I chose this mic over the others. ... show more
