Features

  • CLEAN AND GREEN: The FH135 is powered by clean electricity, reducing the harmful environmental effects and cost of traditional heaters that use natural gas or propane. Our pumps instead move heat from the air into the water, which saves you money and is a breeze to maintain
  • COMPATIBLE WITH: In ground pools up to 7,500 gallons and above ground pools up to 18 foot round or 12 by 24 foot oval. As with all heat pumps, we recommend using in a humid climate down to 50 degrees for best performance. Dry climates are better served by a traditional gas heater
  • HIGH EFFICIENCY: Utilizing high-pressure differential compressors and titanium heat exchangers, FibroPool heat pumps are meticulously designed to be the most energy efficient in their class. You can rest comfortably knowing your family will enjoy years of late season swimming without feeling a squeeze on your electric bill
  • RUGGED DESIGN: Enamel-coated steel chassis is designed to withstand outdoor elements season after season. Slim profile measures just 16"x40"x24", offering a wide range of mounting options. Conveniently installs with included 1 1/2 inch compression fittings
  • EASY OPERATION: Digital control panel with an easy-to-read display offers convenient temperature setting and monitoring. Optional extension cable allows you to mount the control panel in a location that works best for you

  • Works Well & A Fun Project
With days in the 70s and nights in the high 40s, this heater took about a week with the solar cover on the pool to move the temp up from 66F to 88F degrees. Now that it has reached the set temp, the heater does not run at all (which is good) until the water temp drops a few degrees. Overall I am happy with the product. It is easy to use and seems well made. I can't speak for its durability or weather resistance just yet but I will add to this review if time or weather creates any negative effect. I decided to install this heater myself for my 6800 gallon in-ground fiberglass pool and of course, I had lots of questions about how to build the PVC bypass system. Brennon, the customer service tech, answered all my emails quickly and clearly, and although I don't have a ton of plumbing experience, I took my time with it and designed/built the system in a few days. It turned out to be a fun little project and the result is an efficient and leak-free system that seems to have very little, if any effect on the overall efficiency of the pump and filter. Designed with as few elbows as possible, I used an "H" design bypass with 3-way valves so that in the warm seasons I can set it so the water bypasses the heater completely, preventing corrosion in the heater. After the bypass, I used flexible spa hose to connect to filter and chlorinator. No problems yet. I would definitely recommend this product but with a warning: if you are not handy with plumbing, hire a plumber to install. If you own an above-ground pool you can disregard this as they don't require a bypass system and require only simple flexible hoses and clamps. ... show more

  • Expensive, but worth it!
We were first time Intex above-ground pool owners in Iowa, and knew we weren't going to enjoy our pool if the water was freezing. This FibroPool heat pump was EXPENSIVE, so it was a gamble that it would actually keep our 8400 gallon pool heated, but it was worth it! We found we liked it set at 86 degrees, and added one of those blue bubble-wrap looking solar covers to help keep the heat in. Most days the heat pump didn't even run as the water was still at the right temp. It maybe only took a couple of days to get our initial 70 degree tap water warmed up. The heat pump is VERY quiet, which was a plus. We also specifically bought this model of heat pump because it used a regular 110v outlet. We did end up having our electrician come out and put in a dedicated outlet for both the heat pump and sand filter so they didn't trip (our fuse was too small.) We did have a little bit of trouble understanding that the included threaded adapters for the inlet and outlet were just that - adapters, so be sure you have the proper threaded hoses to go back to your pool (again, rookie mistake on our part.) We ended up needing a longer threaded hose for the outlet back into the pool just due to the distance from our outlet as the cord on the heat pump isn't that long and we didn't want to run it on an extension cord. Overall, we are extremely happy we took the chance on this heat pump. We were able to enjoy our pool even when the nights dipped down cool. Nobody likes getting into a freezing cold pool! ... show more

  • So glad I got this!
I ordered a similar heater that was from China and 1/3 the price of this one, but it stayed on for about 10 minutes, shut down and wouldn’t restart. I returned the Chinese one, bit the bullet on the price and ordered this unit. Once I realized you had to have the screen in sunshine mode with the sun symbol on the screen, it’s been working perfectly all summer. I expected my electric bill to go up because we have cool nights in Illinois but any increase was negligible. It keeps the pool at a steady 84 degrees for me and could have gone higher. The fittings work great with my Intex above-ground pool. It’s an expensive unit, but definitely worth the money. I have a much larger electric (wired to the house electricity) in Florida for a small in-ground pool that goes for about $2,500 and if you use it every day your electric bill will go up at least $150/month. This unit just plugs in to an extension cord (you need a certain type - mentioned in the instructions). One thing I do that helps with energy costs is I always keep my pool covered with a bubble Solar cover when it’s not in use. ... show more

  • Can turn your pool into a hot tub if you aren't careful! Really heats 20FT above ground pool
Wasn't sure if this thing was going to actually work or not, being that it is only 120 and plugs into a regular outlet. Well someone (my wife) cranked it up to 99 degrees and the pump was running 24/7. It heated the pool to a solid 95 degrees. We basically had a 20FT hot tub. Pair it with a solar cover and run it often and you will have a legit warm pool. Ours is a steel frame Intex style pool. We are after Labor Day, so the nights here are dropping to mid 50s and daytime highs are mid 70s and the pool is still 85 degrees. It did raise my electric bill a lot, like $130-150 a month running it so much though. That was basically running the pump 24/7 for a while though too. I was able to run my pump, this heater and a salt water chlorinator off a single extension cord. You WILL need at least a 12 gauge extension cord though, or you can start a fire at your outlet if you do something like this. ... show more

  • A good investment
I kept putting off buying this because I wasn't sure if it would be big enough. I have an 18' by 48" Intex pool. This was very easy to setup. The instruction book was somewhat lacking but easy enough to figure out. You can use this with your current Intex pump and hoses. Just take out the pvc hardpipe fittings that are installed and replace with the gray ones that come with it. You will need to purchase an additional hose that will go from the pump outlet to the heater inlet, any way you hook it up, you will need a total of 3 hoses. It took our pool up to 86 degrees in 40 hours. The outside temperature was 90 degrees. The water temp was 78 at the start. I would say if you are considering this, go ahead. Don't forget an extension cord also, one that you can plug in two cords. ... show more
