Be aware that YouTube doesn’t support VR for iPhones anymore. Makes this headset pretty much useless.

  • These VR Goggles Have A Panoramic View That Seems Almost Magical (IMO)!
When an offer to try out a VR headset came my way, there was initial excitement, quickly followed by a slight hesitation upon realizing it was marketed as a children's item. Still, seeing that it could be paired with an Android phone, the thought was to test if, despite being aimed at children/teens, it might actually work for an adult. Plus, if it didn't quite fit the bill for grown-ups, it could always be passed on to my neighbor's son, (my Godson)- as a little spoil-him-in-my-own-way gift. Upon its arrival, the expectation was that the headgear would be too small, given its target audience. However, it fit perfectly! IMO it’s be due to the elastic band that secures the VR headset around the sides and top of the head. My husband found the device quite comfortable to wear- as did I (when I tried it out). While I wasn't initially thrilled to try it myself- my husband was so excited about how well it worked that he kept pushing, and I eventually gave in. To my surprise, it was quite fun and immensely entertaining. My husband found videos on YouTube that he could play on our Samsung A15, then insert the phone (the Samsung A15) into the front of the device (the part that goes over the eyes). He, I, or others would then watch. Please note that we did have to take the case off our cell phone to do this. We have a large case for our phone (and that’s why when we took it out it looked brand new, the way we wanted) however if other’s have thinner cases, I don’t know if you will have to take them off, to put your phone inside this headset (as I don’t have any thin cases to try this theory out). The video quality of the VR googles was great, though that truly depends on the quality of the phone being used- as the goggles essentially project the phone's picture. What made these goggles stand out was the immersive experience- it felt like being inside whatever video we watched. If you turned your head a certain way, the video would respond, showing you exactly what you wanted to see in that direction. You can turn your head any way – up, down, left, right – a full 360 degrees, and see everything being shown. For instance, say you saw something in the video on the left of the screen and wanted to follow it- you could turn your head that way and the whole scene would respond, imitating how you look and follow something in real life. It was an amazing experience that felt like magic- or- as if you had stepped into a magic world! As I used the headset all I could think was, "How does the technology work this way, capable of every viewpoint while I watch it?!" I was simply floored with what the VR goggles could do- and my husband, being the "techie" of the family, absolutely adored them. These VR goggles also come with a great black drawstring storage bag- which is a nice touch. When it comes to devices used with a phone, these VR goggles are notably larger than most other tech we pair with our phones (for instance, Bluetooth headphones, or a label printer I have that uses a phone app, which is three times smaller, if not more). However, despite its larger size compared to typical phone accessories, this device is still convenient to use and store, and remarkably easy to operate. Plus, with these VR goggles priced under twenty dollars (as that was the price when I ordered them, although I know it can fluctuate), and the fact that they work well for both young people and adults, they offer excellent value. ... show more

  • Focusing doesn't always work
Unfortunately, my face doesn't properly match the dimensions of the goggles, so anytime I wear them, they're out of focus with me seeing everything blurry and also I'm double because I can't find the right angles and adjustments to work for me. I don't know if my face is just weird or the goggles don't have full ability to move, but it gives me a headache and makes me dizzy even to watch YouTube videos. That's mostly a me problem though, and so even though it's not right for me, if the dimensions fit you, it's pretty good! The quality is pretty good and solid and the button makes it easy to keep the screen on ... show more
