Basically amazing. I have been using an MS291 and a CS-590 for several years. For the money, this machine is 3x as good for approx the same price. The build quality is decent, except for maybe the oil/fuel filler caps. 8/10. Right out of the box, it started on the third pull. I ran it for the first gallon or so of fuel with extra oil in the fuel. Starts every time on the second pull. My MS291 always takes 7 pulls. The CS-590 doesn't start. This thing cuts at least twice as fast as any of the others. I will probably need to adjust the carb, but no big deal. This is a heavy saw. Possible weak spots are the chain tension ... it feels like the machining is not super accurate. Also the metal on the bar nuts is not up to the OEM quality. Who cares? I don't make my living with this. I use it for a couple of hours a month to fell or buck or rip material too large for my other "rancher" type saws. We will see about the longevity. I suspect it will last. Being able to use/re-use 066 parts is a huge benefit. Also, the chain and bar were surprisingly good out of the box. Especially the chain. Near OEM quality. The bar might be slightly softer and wear slightly more than OEM...not sure. Lastly, the oiler migh be a little tough to adjust...but it seems to work and nothing is burning up or wearing out fast. All in all, this is a vastly better deal for my uses than a comparable stihl. Very impressive.

Amazing saw for price, have run a 30,24,36 inch bar on it and it powers them amazing. Only issue I had was not enough oiling for the 36 inch bar for my needs so I upgraded to a high output pump and it’s great now. Best thing is all the parts are compatible with Stihl parts . I’ve used it commercially to clear land and for hurricane cleanup here in FL and nothing has ever broke on it and never had an issue. I did do some port work to it and baffleless dual port muffler with a good tune it’s a beast! I have a comparable Stihl that I paid 1700$ for and I like this better.

DO NOT BUY FROM HUSTD PARTS. I buy a lot of things and this is my worst experience ever buying something. I was excited to buy this but unfortunately I had a hard time finding non ethanol gas in my location. I finally found some a few months after buying this and when I mix and fill it up it doesn’t start! I clear it in case of flooding and still nothing. Now my return window is closed and hustd tools was no help and has terrible customer service. Now I have a huge non functional chainsaw leaking bar oil on my floor. I knew I’d have to upgrade some parts but I thought it would atleast start. Tank smelled like gas when I received it. They claim this is from testing if it was tested it should work! Also I had to assemble it, so how did the test it? Didn’t even have the proper screw to connect the bumper spikes. I had to modify a screw. Such a waste of time and money

I received my first saw and ran it for about 3 hours on my Alaskan sawmill before the saw shut off and would not start again. Some quick diagnostics showed that the air filter had been installed wrong from the factory and the saw had inhaled a lot of sawdust in the 3 hours of run time. A compression test revealed about 30psi so I took off the exhaust and you could see visible scoring in the cylinder walls. After sending proof of all my problems and a few weeks of going back and forth with the Chinese support, the seller finally sent a replacement powerhead. I have about 3 more hours on this powerhead and no issues yet. When I first received the new powerhead, I did bend the center of the new air filter outwards from the inside so that it's bottom seats better against the white plastic part of the filter housing. The bar I received definitely did not have the ports in the correct spot to allow bar oil to flow into the path of the chain. The picture shows the oval area where the paint isn't removed on the bar where it mates to the powerhead. The hole in the middle of that oval is the hole I had to drill. The hole to the far right is where the factory hole was drilled, almost entirely missing the passageway in the powerhead. I have since drilled new holes in both sides of the bar and have good oil flow. The powerhead itself doesn't have great oil flow anyways, so I suspect I will eventually modify the oiler. The factory bar also seems to have a bit of a out of round spot in the sprocket, so the chain will get slightly tight and then loosen as you move the chain by hand. It's not terrible, but it's noticeable when you're sharpening the chain and adjusting the tension. I could have just gotten a bad bar, but it still works and has a lot of life left in it so I won't know about a replacement for a while. Other than these quality defects, overall I am very happy with the saw. Do not expect to just run this thing full bore right out of the box without work: this saw definitely requires some mechanical ability to fix and maintain. It's also 1/4th the price of the name brand that it knocks off, so there is work to be expected.

So fare so good, cut about 10 slabs of maple now using my chainsaw mill. (I bought a ripping chain so I don’t know about the chain that came with it). I will say this chainsaw runs through a tank of gas very very fast, but it works beautifully and starts so easily! These only thing I hate is the chainsaw scabbard they send with a 36 inch chainsaw is only 12 inches long!! I don’t know why they do that! I have bought some leather and I will make my own 36” leather bar scabbard to protect the entire chain and bar and not just the tip.
