Love that this is completely automatic and so easy to use. After many years of using my hands for everything from computers to shop use the manual can openers of this design put me in pain. It took forever to open the dog and cat food cans for daily feedings and bigger cans were out of the question, had to ask my wife to do it. I had some doubts, believe me, and they were heightened when I opened the battery compartment to find it only took two AA batteries. Was this thing going have what it took to open cans and keep going, without burning thru batteries like mad? A year later and I can say "Yes!" it does just that and keeps going. I use rechargeable lithium batteries (got them and a couple of chargers here on Amazon) and they last so long I have to remind myself to change them. ZERO issues with it, too, it just keeps going and going. Going so good, that we are buying some more to send to friends and relatives to help them with their aging hands. And buying a spare, too. Wife is now a convert, too. At first she thought it was silly, but when she noticed how cleanly the tops came off and how little mess was left in the dog and cat food cans, she switched to using it too.     • Cheap plastic mold, magnet will not catch lid
Would be great if the plastic housing weren’t so cheap and the magnet actually held the lid as stated on pkg.

    • Not as good as the Kitchen Mama
I've had a Kitchen Mama for several years and it's starting to give out on me. They've gone up in price and I missed the sale, so I thought I'd try the Faberware one. Generally I like Faberware products. This is a case where I should have just gone for the one I know I liked. The Faberware opener works, but it only uses 2 batteries (as versus four with the Kitchen Mama) and so it takes longer to open. It also seems to make an odd ridge in the inside of the can which messes up my can saver top (I use it to open green beans I add to my dog's food). I love this style, but I wish it had a bit more power. The magnets (as usual) aren't strong enough to pull off any of my tops, but there are no sharp edges either. ... show more

    • Quick and Easy to use
Best can opener I've ever owned! It takes a little getting used to because it cuts the lid a little different than normal can openers, but it does not leave a sharp edge like other can openers. You may think it did not work until you gently pull on the lid a little and it comes right off.

Well worth every penny. I tried off brands but they were difficult to use and did not work well. This one works amazingly well.
