Box arrived travel worn but the excellent packaging keep everything inside pristine. Assembly was fairly simple. Like the instructions say, a second person makes it even easier. Note that the Model:8247-5 assembly instructions has the seat plate (step 4) attached before the arms (step 5) but in that order one level arm on the seat plate blocks access to one of the arm bolt holes. Do step 5 before step 4 and same some time and hassle. At 6' 3", 165#, and a 35" inseam this chair allows me to sit with my feet flat and my legs feel so much better than they did in my previous chair that was maybe 2" lower. And, don't laugh, the "back pillow" that comes unannounced with it I'm using as a very comfortable seat cushion - geometry-wise it fits perfect on the seat. Fortuitously, the chair arms sit 1/4" below my glass desk top. The armrests have so many positions - I had no idea armrests could be so useful and enhance the comfort of the chair. Had to break my lifelong habit of using them to rotate the chair because these armrests would rotate, not the chair. But the best thing about this chair is the fantasylab customer service!! One of the arms had a missing (broke) latch for the articulating armrest. They replied to my email the next business day. After confirming my order number they apologized for the inconvenience and immediately sent a replacement arm which arrived a week later. ... show more

As a 6'3", 300 lb gamer, it can be hard to find a good chair, especially for a decent price. After watching some YouTube reviews, I decided to give this a go. I was not disappointed. Chair is fairly easy to put together and very comfortable. Only thing I'd change is I'd make the seat a tad deeper or adjustable depth wise, but it's not a deal breaker. I received the chair delivery about one week after placing the order, which isn’t great but isn’t bad either. The first thing I noticed was the outer packaging was damaged. This likely was not the fault of the carrier, but rather, the box was probably damaged in route. Some parts were sticking through the box. After taking everything out, some parts were out of the foam packaging while other parts (of the same kind weren’t). This indicated that the item may have been returned previously, or it wasn’t packed well first. I was impressed by the look and feel of the chair. It is very wide with good lumbar and head support pillows. The biggest reason for only 3 stars is the wheel base. It is too small for the width and body of the chair above it. This is the XL version, so perhaps they tried to use the same wheel base for both models, which would be problematic. You cannot even begin to lean left or right or lean reasonably forward without the chair nearly tipping over. I may have gotten the wrong wheel base sent to me, which would certainly explain the dilemma. Otherwise, the chair seems high quality. ... show more

Bought a secret lab chair and returned it due to its horrible thin seat cushion... Was like sitting on concrete. I was hesitant to buy the Fantasy Lab but really glad I did. The seat is thick and comfy. The leather is soft and professional looking. The adjustability is off the charts... And it's a very high Qual chair. You can tell it's going to last. The extra removable cushion was a major bonus and I use it on the seat for even more padding. For reference in a 6'2" 255 lbs man with a muscular build. Thanks Fantasy Labs : you have a new fan. I've been looking for a long lasting sturdy chair, and this is not it. One of the wheels on the chair snapped the first day. The metal bent which makes it impossible to slide back in. It was also difficult to put together as the bolt holes were poorly drilled and dont match up. The base seat and backing are made of hard wood which is fine. I sit weird sometimes and these arms are perfect for it. They can angle up and move outward as needed. You can angle them in and have forward elbow rests directly in front of you which no other chair can do that I have seen. The wheel base is solid, unlike some other chairs that give you a plastic base which bends over time. I hope this chair continues and doesn't disappear like so many other designs.
