Unfortunately - or maybe fortunately - I just replaced the battery in my car. I needed a charger about 5 days before this arrived. So I have no need to test this thing at this point. The device itself seems fine. But the direction are in very bad English and I feel like I almost need an interpreter to understand them. The other thing that surprised me is a (poorly written) warning not to charge a 12V battery if it's fallen below 10V. It says "a large damage" has (or will?) happened to the battery. Well, why my battery recently failed, the Auto Zone person said it was at around 7.5V. So I take this to mean that by the time the battery fails in the car, you can't use this charger...which is what I wanted it for, to charge it a little bit to at least get the car started and get me to the auto parts store. Googling about all this leads me to believe you can charge a "dead" car battery at least a little, so I don't understand why this device can't do it.

This battery charger works, just not as quickly as our more expensive charger. If you're looking for something to use now and then, on batteries that are already mostly charged, this will be fine. If you need to charge dump trailer/boom lift/etc batteries, spend a bit more for a higher quality.

Basically this has 2 modes, quick charge, and what they call "smart" charge cycle Has only 1 push button switch and really hard to know when pressing it which mode it is in The user's manual is weak, clear writer does not understand English and using different words for the same meaning. Really needs a rewrite and more content on how to use Hooked this to a battery that was like 80% charged and got to reporting 13.7 volts yet was still in trickle charge and never got to a float mode, so never know if it is constantly overcharging or going to a battery tender mode. Has a small monitor screen but dependent of light and angle

The unit itself is much smaller and lighter than I was expecting. NOTE that the instructions state that it is made for batteries 3-200AH. For comparison, a Prius battery is about 50AH and a truck battery might be 75AH. So this will service most people's needs. As others have noted, the display panel is somewhat lacking in detail and clarity. It's not the beefiest or highest quality charger out there. And it's not made for immediately jump starting a dead battery. If you are mainly looking for a jump starter, and can afford it, I'd probably go with something by Noco Genius. Those are awesome for jumping dead batteries. If you're looking at an actual trickle charger, this is a good value option that is lightweight. You should give it consideration if you are more interested in value than top brand name features.

If I'm interpreting the indecipherable manual correctly, don't use this on dead or very low batteries. So... I basically have no use for this. If you have a boat or something in storage, I suppose that would be a good use-case. Operation is simple enough.. just match your battery voltage, put it on "Intelligent" mode, and you're done. I don't have anything like that, so I can't say whether it works well for that purpose or not. I wish I could say more about it, but the manual is completely cryptic, and seems to even contradict its own statements in places. Connecting to a good battery seems to initiate a trickle charge, but the only way I could truly test this device is on a dead battery, which I'm (apparently) strictly warned not to do. For dead batteries, I think the last sentence in the manual implies that you should inquire about different device that they manufacture. From the manual: "Other, we have professional protecting device for the battery releasing current can multi-protect your batteries, if you need to require for it, contact the seller or manufacturer". I can't recommend this for folks that wake up and realize they left their headlights on all night, which is most of us.

Overall I like this fast-charger. It has the ability to work on a wide range of battery sizes/voltages and it doesn't take up a lot of space in my garage. As others have mentioned, the instructions leave something to be desired, but it's easy enough to figure out... push the button until you get the mode that you need, hook it up to the battery and you're good to go. I have several float chargers (which this one is also capable of), but the fast charge feature is a nice thing to have if you need to bring a drained battery back up to usability, quickly. Recommended.
