These are nice and light weight, work in a pinch as for chopping and food prep. When I used a chefs knife on them though, it cut the plastic and left big rivets in it.

We love these flexible cutting board for diced vegetables (onions, bell peppers, garlic, etc.) We chop directly on the cutting board and then can fold it up to dumped the diced veggies directly it into the pan with little to no mess. These boards are slightly gripped on one side and smooth on the other side. The open hole offers a convenient storage option if you have a hook to hang them on. these have a textured bottom to prevent slippage, but the top is totally flat. this makes anything on it quickly spread off the mat, and makes me feel like the knife will slip. it also doesn’t defend the mat from the knife. i’ve had these for under a month and they’re already trashed. compared to the standard one i’ve had for 4 years, which also looks haggard, but feels more safe and sturdy during use. i don’t think the solid black is worth it when the item isn’t as well made as the standard design. that slight pattern on the top of my red one really makes a difference. ... show more

Okay so I was a bit skeptical about these thinner, flexible cutting mats but this 3 pack of flexible cutting mats has won me over. I've only used the pink mat so far and I've been using it daily now about 2 weeks. It's not very thick but it seems adequate for the task. The back of it has a textured grid of squares that kind of elevates it a bit from the surface. It's not non slip per se but I find as I'm chopping, the mere act of holding the item in place as I cut has been sufficient pressure to keep the mat from moving. Make sure your counter is dry under the mat for added security. I haven't found that it's dulling my knife at all so far. I like the size of it alot. It's perfect for my particular counter space and stores so much more easily. I like the flexibility for ease of disposing skins and scraps right into the trash barrel or the chopped items into the pan. It's a definite time saver. I have several traditional cutting boards of varying sizes and I keep finding myself reaching for this one. So far so good. It washes very easily with dish liquid and sponge. So far, I've not noticed any odors after washing like some others that seem to hold onto the stronger odors of garlic and onion. Overall, for the price I'm happy with it and have no complaints. Nice set of cutting boards, I like the flexibility and the size. The back side also has nice gripping so the mat doesn't slip around when you're trying to use it and I like the little corners that allow for hanging

Would rate 3.5 Stars if possible rather than 4 Stars. This is not a matbut rather it's a sheet of plastic suitable for elementary school students and it is more appropriate to call this a disposable cutting backboard to protect whatever material is underneath, it's usefulness is in delicate cutting and is useful for origami and sculpting that require a more resistant surface that is potentially disposable. It is non-toxic and is safe to cut food on. Any sharpened chef's knife will carve completely through a single layer as it's about as strong as cutting six baby carrots at once. Great for sculping, delicate craft work, finishing touches, and kids, it is just not a "Flexible cutting board". ... show more
