The mat comes rolled up tight, you will need to warm it up in order for it to lay out nicely, I left it in my hot car for a couple hours and it laid out great.

The mat comes rolled up and apparently if it gets cold it gets stiff. Even after bringing to room temperature it is impossible to unroll it. The directions that come with it say to heat it up in the sun or in the shower. Don't think the sun will really help when it is 30 degrees outside. And as far as putting it in the shower - after I get this thing wet, where am I supposed to unroll it?? All over the wooden floor I bought it to protect?? hmmm. It shows a picture on the direction sheet with small bricks holding it down - I put anything less than 30 pounds on it and it just curls back up and moves the object. What a piece of crap. They should not be selling it in winter in colder climates ... show more

My desk chair rolled too much on the vinyl plank flooring. I had to hold onto my desk to keep from sailing across the room. A rubber backed throw rug rumpled up as I moved the chair around and did not allow for easy movement. I needed something that would stay flat but was not as slick as the floor. This mat did the trick. Out of the box it rolled out flat. My chair moves easily but stays put when I am not actively moving it. It also matches my desk chair and my computer! The only con is that it does move over a period of days. Once every 5-7 days I shift it back into position. The movement is slight. My desk is 40" wide and the mat, at its widest point, is 47". If the desk was wide enough to get the mat all the way under, it probably would not be as noticeable. I am very happy with it and recommend it. ... show more

I put it on my carpet but it was very difficult to roll chair around. Either my carpet to thick or the mat is only good for very short carp-et. Mine was quarter of an inch and the matt was to flexible.

Arrives rolled up TIGHT and a bit hard to unroll. I used a hairdryer blown down the length of it and in the center of the tube. But it dents wherever you’re sitting.

After a couple of weeks I still have bumps in the mat that haven't smoothed out yet. I ordered this because the size was perfect. I did what the instructions say to do before rolling out, and I still have bumps to roll over. The thickness is about half of the good quality mats out there.
