I bought 2 of these batteries to build a back up power supply for two applications. The first was to run my small QRP ham station in a box that was intended for use during hurricane season here in Florida and the second was to power my cable modem when the power went out (happens a lot here in Florida). The batteries, installed in a plastic box, (purchased from Amazon) worked excellent for either purpose. However, one day, they simply stopped working. (zero output) While unsure of the actual failure I suspected I had shorted them our during charging and felt sure I now owned two bricks. I sent a note to the company and during a long series of exchanges i found that the built in BMS likely went into a safety mode and if I put a small charge at 14.4 VDC i might recover them. Sure enough the Batteries came back to life and they work perfect. I sure never expected that .... I asked for and received the specifications for the BMS. After reading the specs and further discussions with their tech in California I found there were numerous protections built in and the price for the batteries is very justified. A GREAT 128 Watt Hour battery! This is a better capacity than a comparable lead acid. However, care should be taken not to exceed the max discharge current or max charge current or Max Surge for 5 sec.. Max discharge rate for this battery is 10A. If possible to keep at or below this, a much better choice than a lead acid battery. If you need higher discharge rates, lead acid is a better choice. ... show more

Well I bought two of these for my son's 24 v ride on truck. One of them works just fine. Other one did not charge at all out of the box so I returned it and they sent me another one. It worked for exactly 11 charges. Now it won't charge at all. It's been over 3 months since I got it so I don't have the option to return it. I don't know what to do it looks like I lost $100 on this. I don't understand why one works like a champion other does not tho. It's quite frustrating. So if you wanna coin toss chance of getting a proper battery go right ahead. ... show more

    • ExpertPower LiFePo4 10A battery -- excellent upgrade for my astronomy power tank

My aging Celestron power tank used to drive my night-time 'scopes was flagging. Too much extended use maybe, maybe casual maintenance, but all the same the old tank was now a puddle. Pros: LiFePo4 batts run until they collapse, providing juice well beyond the 50% lead-acid batts. This was a direct replacement size-wise, with a 30% boost in sustained amps. Make sure you measure the bay intending to receive this new batt. LiFePo4 batts provide up to 80% energy, but then they quit suddenly. LifePo4 batts charge rapidly, and far more often than their lead-acid counterparts. This batt is considerably LIGHTER in weight making it easier to cart around in the dark. Note: LiFePo4 batts require a compatible charger, I use this from Amazon: I have several of these Mroinge LifePo4/Lead acid 2A chargeing and love 'em as they work for nearly any batt: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MCTXFC7/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Cons: They are pricey, but taken in the long haul are a better value for service and overall lifetime.     • Tests slightly under rated capacity

Slightly below rated capacity (2.5% less at 125 Wh). Charged using CC/CV up to 14.4V, no more than 2A during CC, and at the end of charging it was drawing just a few mA as expected. Let sit for a day. Resting OC voltage was 13.85V. Ran test at 0.15C rate using an Ohmite shunt and voltage measured at the battery terminals (not at the load!). Stopped when voltage dropped to 10V. 125Ah result. Can't complain too much about that, but most batteries I buy these days test at slightly over the rated capacity. ... show more

    • A heads up for UPS users, not disparaging either this battery or the UPS, but...

This battery installed OK into a CyberPower 1500VA PCS Sinewave UPS. But when a small power blip occurred; all my lead acid UPS systems had no problem but the CyberPower 1500 shut off. I think this was because the UPS thought the battery was charged and even indicated with a 300W load that it had 32 minutes run time. But it was wrong. The load was shut off and the UPS shut itself off. I'm not disparaging either this battery or this UPS. Just, they don't work together most likely because an SLA charger will not charge this battery. I've used this product for two years with no loss of duration of charge. Operates above 13v for 95% of duty cycle. I did, however, purchase the recommended charger, as standard chargers have too low a voltage to maintain this battery properly.
