  • Fantastic product for the price
Color: Red+Black
I was somewhat hesitant after noticing all the reviews were from accounts that had received free products. However, I am blown away by the quality and design of this wood chipper. I had the chipper unpacked and assembled within 30 minutes. The parts were sturdier and more solid than I anticipated. The internal cutting blades are thick, solid and made of quality metal. I will be able to hone and resharpen these blades repeatedly for a long life, and then I also received a pair of backup blades as a bonus when they become needed. The curved leg design is constructed of strong steel and is considerably more balanced and steady than I anticipated. The internal parts are well machined or molded and fit well together. The first day I ran the machine for over 30 minutes which derived probably 7 full bags of mulch that I was able to spread. The catch bag is convenient and simple to use. I was grinding various sized limbs from recent tree pruning, which ranged from twig size up to 1.5 inches. The machine handled it all easily. I would agree with a prior reviewer and stress that it is important not to overwhelm the motor. You can easily hear the change in tone as it works harder. Feeding slowly and evenly and not trying to cram too much down the chute at once will prolong the life of the machine and help you avoid jams. I would feed consistently and then pause briefly to allow the motor to rev back up. It can be slow and tedious, but way better than having to bag all the refuse up, and now I can reuse in garden. I would also recommend after usage to open up the housing and clean it out before putting it away. Just normal buildup of leaf and chips within the machine that could cause problems if left in there after each use. A bit of material wound around the retaining bolt that I also removed. Overall I am highly impressed with the convenience and effectiveness of this product after just 2 days of operation. ... show more

  • Great product and value
Color: Red+Black
I was skeptical about the quality given the price but I am very pleased so far. Assembly was fairly easy. I put it to the test the first time I used it and it was amazing. I cleared a large portion of a brush pile during a 3-hour run. It shredded most tree debris fairly easily. It only jammed a couple of times when a knot or hard wood couldn’t go through. Clearing the jam was simple and I was back to chipping very quickly. The collection bag is great but I did learn I had to stop at about 3/4 full to easily remove the bag. Moving it isn’t hard but it can wobble on uneven ground. Overall it has worked great - well worth the price. I look forward to using it again. ... show more

  • Built well but has drawbacks
Color: Red+Black
Should have been a great chipper brushless motor, wide stance easy to pull around, extra blades and only 5 dollars more. The problem lies partially with the design. You have to remove a guard just to change blades which did not last very long at all, less then s1/2 days work. They do allow to flip them and use the other edge that is nice. The cover you remove is screwed into plastic which I see as a problem down the road. It does clog up often but it is easy to remove the cover to get to stuff. The center bolt seems to attract vines and any grasses and then makes it harder to spin the cutting wheel. Also it has a half plastic and half aluminum feed shoot. The Sakar I have has a full; metal chute which should last longer. The frame kit just slides into the plastic body which if the plastic cracks leaves you without wheels but I believe they will hold up if your careful. The bag attach points are excellent leaving you plenty of room to get the bag handles installed. The motor leaves a lot to be desired. Being brushless should be a plus but it constantly overloads and then you have to open it to clear it before starting again. The brushed motor on the Sakar seems to have more power. I don't know if they downsized the motor because it is brushless or the esc is programmed incorrectly. All; in all it will do a fair job for lighjt bushes and limbs. ... show more

  • Better than the previous chippers I have had.
Color: Red+Black
After having three SunJoe chippers (the motors burn out after three to five years) I find the EWORK chipper has many improved features. First, a work of caution. The feed on the EWORK chipper is improved and safety glasses and protective gloves are a required. The feed is improved and much more efficient and restraining any branch over 1.00 inches in diameter must be restrained to prevent stalling the motor. Otherwise it devours any branch fed with no jams or blockages. Chips are uniformly even when chipping Madrone which is a serious hardwood. The smaller branches and twigs are also uniform. I chip two or more cubic yards of debris every year and find the cosmetic improvements very useful. The only drawback is the bag which is perfectly sized to place over the top of the chipper to reduce moisture intrusion. (I use a plastic tub to handle the chips which is available from any nursery free of charge). The biggest wear item on my precious chippers were the blades and a couple spares is really nice. ... show more

  • This Chipper is Hungry
Color: Red+Black
Recently I borrowed a chipper purchased at one of the local tool supply stores and found it to be a good option for yard cleanup. Decided to buy one and went through the numerous ones on Amazon. I went with the EWORK based on the highest motor speed and reviews. It arrived and it is larger than the one I borrowed. When I put it to use the difference was amazing. My new chipper is a beast and quickly devours whatever you feed it. Small twigs are mostly shredded compared to being made into smaller twigs by the other unit and it will shred leaves mixed with branches. Probably the strength and speed of the motor. I am really impressed and glad I chose EWORK. ... show more

  • Great small chipper for small, everyday yard cleanup.
Color: Red+Black
Great little chipper. Definitely appropriate for homeowners looking to manage small tasks like cleaning up pruning or fallen branches. I found that newly cut wood was easier for the chipper to handle; drier old wood from my brush pile caused it to work harder and stop every once in a while. Getting it back up was just a matter of turning it off, removing the offending branch, and starting it again. Looking forward to using it more. ... show more

  • We wanted to love it but just can't
Color: Red+Black
So we tried two of these. The first one jammed a lot and we could not remove the blades for sharpening . They were screwed in too tight and the flimsy tool they provide you just bends. So we had it replaced. The blades were a little easier to remove on the newer one but it really just continues to jam. Yes it handles branches the size advertised but what no one tells you is they must be straight. I mean straight-straight. Any kind of "v" or "y" branches will jam it instantly. For us, it just will not work because every 4 minutes if needs jams cleared which means disassembling it. On the plus side, it was easy to assemble, is lightweight and easy to store. For us, the constant jamming renders it useless so we returned it ... show more

  • 3 out of 5 stars — Works for small branches, but the 1.77" capacity claim seems unrealistic
Color: Red+Black
3 out of 5 stars — Works for small branches, but the 1.77" capacity claim seems unrealistic I cannot get this machine to cut anything larger than about a 1-inch cherry branch. I suspect the advertised 1.77-inch capacity is conditional, though that limitation is not explained anywhere in the product listing or the manual. The hopper opening will physically accept a 1.77-inch branch, but the motor and blade system do not seem capable of actually processing material that size. I ran the unit using a 50 ft 12/3 SJTW heavy-duty extension cord, so power delivery should not have been an issue. For twigs and branches under 1 inch, dry or green, the chipper worked reasonably well. However, branches frequently became stuck inside the loose internal housing, requiring the machine to be unplugged and cleared. The blades are extremely sharp. While clearing a jam (with the machine unplugged), the blade disk easily cut through a leather glove, so caution is definitely required when servicing jams. Despite the listing mentioning anti-jam protection, the unit does not appear to automatically shut off during jams. If there is a cutoff feature, it takes far too long to engage—at least longer than 3–4 seconds in my experience. During that time the motor continues trying to drive the jammed branch, which makes it feel like the motor could overheat or burn out if the jam isn’t cleared quickly. Overall, the machine works okay for small yard debris, but the advertised 1.77-inch capacity does not reflect real-world performance, and the jam behavior makes it less confidence-inspiring than expected. ... show more
