Worked perfectly out of the box. It can charge my Ioniq 5 fully in ~7 hrs. When doing 40amps it does get hot to the touch. I put it in my garage and just charge at a lesser current unless I really need 40 amps. If I need to charge at 40 amps I use a small fan to cool it. I want to make it clear that even without a fan it does not cutoff charging at 40A. It does not get too hot at any of the other lesser currents. ... show more

I see in the picture that there is an adapter to a standard wall outlet but i did not receive this part. As a result the charger is useless to me. I don't have any way to ask for a new part other than returning this charger. That's why i give it only one star. If I had the adapter it might work just great. Will update this review if I can resolve the issue. Update: I was able to contact the seller and they promptly sent me the adapter I needed. Everything works nicely now, I like the fact that this charger gives me a lot of detailed information on what's happening and that it is a bit lighter weight than my other charger so it's easier to put it in it's case and bring it with me. ... show more

It’s not a product that worked for me. I have a working 220v 40 amp service this product was shoeing a red warning from the initial installation. The reset did not do a reset the instructions were not for my exact unit. Then I downloaded the remote app. Heads up it’s a generic app that failed each time to sync to my unit. Maybe the red error is why but the instructions again were vague use a 2.4 ghz router etc. my google home products all work with this router which does have a 5ghz separate login. Do it’s a good router iPhone 12Pro correct osx. Electricity from a pro installed circuit. My Old unit worked but I wanted to remotely monitor and set a schedule for reduced rates using an app. This was a total failure. I returned it and warn the low price is low support. Pay more get a product that works and has a support team. I could not change the Amps on the unit it was bricked . I think it’s junk. ... show more

Much better made than my original Volvo charger. Cable is much bigger and barely gets warm at 16A. Charges much faster. The language in the ad should be clearer about the required 115.V adaptor.

    • L2 charging at home is wonderful

This is my first L2 charger for my home (previously only L2 or fast charging at public stations). This has definitely lowered my range anxiety a few notches. The charger is charging well. I was thinking I would use the time feature but I'm not sure what my car might do and so far I don't want to test it. lol. Basically as soon as I plug into math car, the car starts initializing and keeps trying. I'm fairly sure it'll stop trying after a while if power doesn't come through but I don't know how long it might try. The other thing I don't know is if power start flowing later if the car will automatically start charging. So basically the timer feature is not that useful to me. It would be great if the timer worked the other way; stop charging after a certain amount of time. And I haven't been able to get the charge rate feature to work. It seems to just charge at one rate. But no big deal for me. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. With a Tesla & non Tesla vehicle at home, was looking for a solution to charge both of them with the same charger - instead of multiple chargers and got hold of this. Having used it for around a month can say it's convenient to plug into Nema 14-50 charger port and have the vehicles alternatively charged. 25ft cable is quite long enough to reach both cars in the garage or driveway. The charger is versatile to support a wide range of input voltages from 110 to 240V and is useful when I travel and need to charge at different location. It has J1772 connector at the end that fits securely into my non-Tesla vehicle. For Tesla, I need to use the converter provided with the vehicle. It got added protection like auto cut-off due to high temperature, voltage fluctuations which adds additional peace of mind! The build and cable looks durable and heavy (not comfortable to carry all along :) ) but looks like this is how the charger is made of! ... show more
