Lock on my Anderson patio swing door stopped working. Its a strange two way lock both up and down with bars that go into holes. Then you switch the lock’s latch to secure the door. It would never let me switch the latch si my door would’t lock or be secure! I thought I might have to get a new door. Yikes!. Then saw this gadget. Looked at reviews and ordered it. Super. Three screws to anchor it a couple minutes to fiddle with how to open and release it and I was all set. Secured the door in less than five minutes. Yay! Happy happy. Seems well made and substantial. And works easily on my Anderson door. Highly recommend. If you can insert a quarter in between door and wall, this should work. Much cheaper than a new door too.

Very simple to install unless of course you try to follow the instructions! This device only has four screws to put in so you really don’t need instructions but if you did try to follow them you would be screwed! lol. The lock is super super easy to latch and unlatch so I’m not sure why there is a previous review stating that you can’t get out of your door in an emergency situation?… I plan on purchasing more of these now that I see how great the product is!!

The media could not be loaded. This lock is fantastic in that it's sturdy, easy to lock and install, but the downside is, if you use it on a door that is used fairly often, the lock WILL become jammed (just as I've shown in the video). I bought this lock back in mid-late 2022 for my younger sister who wanted a lock on her door for privacy (where no one could unlock the door from outside and she could be safe when our parents were quarreling and couldn't bring her into it, so this was a perfect choice at the time.) It worked amazing. It's just like the description said. It was very easy to install and lock like I said. But this was used on the door to my sister's room, a door she opened and closed everyday. And lo and behold, it's April 3rd of 2023 and she got stuck and could not get out. We had to force the door towards the bottom to break a bit to hand her some tools to get out. Luckily, she was able to get out only after 30 minutes. As you all can see in my video as well, it's very difficult to unlock once it's jammed. But I HAVE to give props for the lock being so darn durable and sturdy. It fortunately and unfortunately did its job I just do NOT suggest using these on doors you use often.

A basic addition that helps secure your door, for a decent price. It's small, easy to install, and pretty effective to stop the door from opening if kicked (depending on factors such as length of screws in the door hinges, and the door's frame). This comes with 2 sizes of screws, so they should be sufficient to hold this door lock in place with no problem. The instructions don't tell you HOW to rotate the locking mechanism though, so here it is: Once in place (test it off the door frame first of course), pull the locking bar to the side, then twist it back toward you. You do the reverse to close the lock in place. This prevents it from accidentally locking YOU out. This is a good option to keep small children from opening inside doors too, because it does take a bit of force to pull the mechanism. And of course, it should be placed out of reach for them as well. It's worth it for the cost, but for a more secure option for home security (to reduce the chances of home invasion even more by kicking in a front door), I purchased the Door Bull. It does cost more, but highly unlikely anyone's foot is going to get through. This unit is a decent choice for the price, and can add more peace of mind. They may even be able to pick a lock, but this can't be picked.
