    • Great starter Uke for someone interested in starting the journey, with some caveats.

I'm giving this item 4 stars, because even though it requires a small effort to make it a good instrument, it's perfectly in line with its price range and arrived as described. A lot of other reviews complain about this Uke not being able to hold a tune. I found I had the same issues, but quickly identified the culprit. The tuning pegs not securely screwed in to the head and the provided strings are what you would find on a toy. But Strings are a consumable on a Uke, the strings that ship with an inexpensive instrument always lower quality and you should consider replacing them on most sub 80 dollar Ukes if you want it to sound good and tune well. The tuning pegs are an easy fix, just tighten the screws on the back of the head. Takes less than a minute. The strings however are going to cost about 5 dollars for decent strings and about 30 minutes to swap them out the first item you do it. With both of those fixes in place the ukulele is well worth the price if you have a young child looking to learn the instrument. I'd recommend just tossing some 5 dollar Aguila strings in your cart alongside it, and make sure you account for those when price comparing. ... show more

Yes, Everjoys ukulele is the right Soprano Ukulele I have been looking for. It arrived earlier and very well packed, just the way I expected. My wife and I are guitar players，we have been looking for a right Soprano Ukulele for my son who has a deep interest in music, especially the string instrument. So, I bought this. He is very happy with this. Now, he has started the journey of learning ukulele. The wood used for the whole body is high quality and it is not a toy ukulele, it is an instrument which is suitable for the starter. The blackwood fingerboard and bridge looks so cool and like my professional guitar. The workmanship is fine. It is smooth to touch and the finishing is very neat. The strings are high quality which can be played well after you tune the ukulele with Everjoys digital tuner. The color string is much easier for a starter to learn and remember the different note. The songbook is quite useful for a starter to know and to use the ukulele. There are also quite many songs to learn in it. I decided at the age of 42 to teach myself to play the ukulele. This is a great starter set, it is inexpensive and comes with pretty much anything you need. Although I don't use the case or the book it comes with (I prefer to watch YouTube videos), I do love that it comes with the tuner as I do have to tune it often (especially right after you get it-I am finding that the more I play it, the less I have to tune it). The media could not be loaded. I was a little skeptical about some of the reviews about this uke. I've never played a string instrument before and I wanted something that I could learn on yet feel feminine. (I'm a girl at heart.) At the age of 36, I'm learning chords. I absolutely love picking this thing up and attempting to learn. I was slightly disappointed by the bag. Ive made sure to include a photo so you can clearly see it is NOT a hard case. The color is bright and I probably should have gone with a pale baby pink hue. (that's more my style.) The only problem I had with tuning so far as been with the tuner that came with the kit. Since Im very NEW to learning. I had no idea how to actually tune a Uke. The tuner hasn't been able to get a proper tuning on the C string. I had to rely on other methods to tune it. Thankfully, I had the resources to use an App to tune my Uke. My fingers hurt and I'm playing a little each day. If children are getting this for the first time, be prepared to encourage finger soreness so they don't lose interest. As an adult, the pain I'm experiencing makes touching common house hold items sensitive to say the least. (typing is a little bothersome.) The song book has been handy too, i suggest buying additional supplemental material to enhance the experience of learning, especially if Internet resources are not an option. You wont have enough to keep someone engaged in learning with just this kit alone. In all I am so in love with this Uke. She's perfect for a beginner. I will be investing in a larger more expensive uke as my skill progresses. ... show more

Bought for one of my children. Saw it got many good reviews (4-5 stars) & a few dud ones (1 star). At such a low price (-$30) decided to give it a shot, after all even dud review mentioned he was able to return it. For the price this uke surely deserves 5 stars. Everything works and works well. This is a serious very inexpensive option for a starter set. Don't get me wrong, when my child learns three songs I promised her a Kala, but this Uke will not go to waste as two of her younger siblings are already begging to take over this one. Update: She learned 3 songs easily from tutorial book included, simplistic but she learned them hardly asking daddy for help, so props to let book too. As to the many who complain about its staying in tune, I have noticed it is sensitive to humidity & temperature. Do not see it as big problem. After a couple days it evened out & all ukuleles have this problem. Tuner included makes it easy to tune it in under a minute. As to set-up: Nut was at good height. When I filed saddle down to allow about 3mm at 12th fret intonation was perfect, not just acceptable, PERFECT, pretty amazing on uke at this price. Adding a thought here on this cute little uke: Just finished evaluating all uses in pic & my kids (5-10) & I found the rainbow strings the most pleasant to play. Dad does not notice it much, but nice touch on this trainer uke. ... show more
