I will not endorse utilizing this for games you don't already own, but it is great in the case of being a collector as it allows you to leave your cartridges in their boxes etc to protect them if you feel like playing something. It's also fantastic for anything that had a battery backup for saves etc (Mario 64, Donkey Kong 64, Zelda OoT, etc) as the batteries do eventually wear out. Unfortunately the way Nintendo made cartridges that utilized battery backup / saves from the original NES onward meant that the batteries were directly soldered to the boards which presents a bit of risk to replace them if you are not confident in your skills, or if you do not have a professional to take it to.

Basically you need a slow SD card (class 4) for this to not give you any freezes or errors. It works sometimes, but my god is it a headache. They should update the product to work with fast cards bc the slow SD cards are getting really hard to find. Also, it doesn’t play “every game perfectly”. I noticed Tony hawk pro skater 2 & 3 have graphical glitches on the sides of the screen.

This product is great for playing ROMS of your legally owned N64 carts. I use it to practice Super Mario 64. Do note: you may need an older micro SD card for it to work. Also, I was upset to see this product was much cheaper on the manufacturer’s website. However, I cannot be disappointed because this product is great. Check the manufacturer’s site before purchasing on Amazon. Also note: this product required a signature to be delivered. The Amazon delivery person did not ring our doorbell multiple times so I had to pick up this package from a local depot. In the end, a very happy experience.
