Description

Nintendo first dabbled in video games during the industry's early years of the mid-'70s. Generations of successful gaming console releases through the years led to the much-hyped 1996 launch of Nintendo 64, a system that represented a giant evolutionary leap in video game technology. Within the first three days of launch, hundreds of thousands of gamers hunkered down with Mario 64, considered by many one of the greatest video games ever created. Even today, the system's excellent design continues to host an ever-expanding library of breakthrough games.

  • Powers on, Plays Games, and Works like it’s 1996
Although it did come with some mystery stains; which isn’t a deal breaker, because I bought the cheaper package. The console it’s self feels high quality, there isn’t any damage and the game cartridges fit snugly. Ultimately brought the inner child out of me, and the joy of opening the box made it worth it. 4.9/5 stars ... show more

  • Great gaming console
Im glad I bought this to add to my gaming collection. I first I was really worried about making this purchase but I made sure I bought it from a really good seller who said that he professionally cleans and tests the consoles. I wish they made these consoles again but that would never happen. In my package I got two brand new controllers but remember they are not official Nintendo controllers but circa brand, but they work really well and feel really brand new. The cords are great condition and the console is so clean and dust free and almost look like new. I have another nN64 but I wanted another one two have handy and the original controllers that work like a dream and all my video game cartridges. Again I am happy about purchase and excited to play my games and the ones I just purchased. So please get yourself this console and take your time shopping for a good and ask plenty of questions so you don't get ripped off or disappointed. Even if you pay extra it is worth it. ... show more

  • Nintendo 64 is a great console.
It's been nearly 20 years since the release of this magical console and I can firmly say that this is one of the best consoles of all time. The N64 had a lot to amount to with the SNES being only a couple of years before it. Boy, did it do just that. The graphics were phenomenal for its time and this little gaming system had some of the most amazing classics, Mario 64, Zelda: OoT and Majora's mask, Banjo & Kazooie, and Golden Eye 007. While these games are outdated and the games we have today make these look like garbage, anyone who had this console or wanted this console growing up will have a BLAST playing it and heck, I still check mine out time and time again. In 1996 when this console was first released many people had a few reasons not to buy it. The Atari Jaguar was released a couple of years before this and The Jaguar said "64Bit" on the cover. Nobody knew what bits were, but if you had more of them, you were king of the hill. But when I first tore into that box of holy Nintendo 64 goodness and looked at it on Christmas morning, I was astonished. Seeing Mario run around in the castle and jump into paintings was amazing. A 3d game that was good! It was so good that I didn't even touch any of my other gifts that day, I just stayed up playing Mario 64. Now one complaint a lot of people have with this gaming console, is the controller. It's stiff, hard to hold and the design of it is just plain awful. 3 handles? What could they have possibly been thinking? My recommendation is picking up a custom controller that looks more of an GameCubeish, Xboxish kind of style. The joystick has ridges on it that just tear into your hands, but your hands don't slide off the controller at least. The controller is the only reason keeping this from a perfect score. Another problem is the CARTRIDGES. It was 1996 and Sony was just about to release the PS1 1 year after the big hit Nintendo. They used Disks which allowed better graphics, more memory, and they weren't as expensive to make. Another problem with these cartridges is that there are not end labels. Putting all of them in a bin is actually better then putting them on shelves. But, even though it has flaws it is still a great system to play. If you are willing to go back and look at polygonal graphics, do so! It is a fun system and has TONS of classics! It is a great system to have in your home. ... show more

  • Most importantly....The Game Console Worked?!?! :D
I forgot the "Seller's name" / "Seller's company name" ....(Sorry) but anywho....the game console WORKS! I was thoroughly surprised, glad and excited. HOWEVER....It did not work the first time. I had to switch to another game to see if the game cartridge was the issue, and I think it was. I did come into an issue with the audio/visual cable that was received.(I don't think it worked).... But I was lucky enough to borrow a new one from a friend (who bought an audio/visual cable from Gamestop a long time ago that had all Nintendo port cable connectors)....That seemed to do the trick and allowed us to see and hear the game....which then allowed me to confirm that the console itself worked! This includes the Controllers that were given (as part of the bundle.) I did not at all try out the "2 free games" that was given (as part of the bundle) ...so I do not know if they work for I tried out 2 other games that I bought from other sellers... (hopefully that makes sense, you may have to read that slowly or re-read it..... :D) I think the Seller's name was "Eric"? something.....(Too lazy to look it up or check...sorry) Anyways, I would do business with them again even with those issues, and I would recommend them. Thank you very much! ... show more
